Well the engine looks salvageable... I'm surprised the tow company didn't already have it on eBay along with the Acura wheel caps.
I'd suggest getting a lawyer. He/she could at least have you in a rental while CountryWide screws around.

I haven't had time to go back to the auto shop to see if the center caps are missing from each wheel. Seeing as how I didn't check the first day I went to the original tow shop, it's possible that the center cap fell off some how during the towing process. Doubtful..but still a possibility. Bleh.
Turns out Country Wide (other guys insurance) is slow as fuck. They're dragging their feet with this shit...not sending an adjustor out and all. I could claim it first with my insurance but then I'd have to pay the deductible first then have my insurance go after Country Wide to reimburse me. This shit is such a hassle.

Oh I forgot to mention...I got a lawyer...you all can stop yelling at me now! i can't handle the stress...first the accident now my azine bros are yelling at me...i'm in a fragile emotional state right now!
So anyway, they've been calling country wide but country wide keeps saying "we didn't get the fax". lawyer faxed it to them 2 more times and he keeps calling them...hopefully this weekend they send out their damn adjustor. they know its their clients fault...dragging their slow asses to avoid paying me. asshole insurance

You see me, I CU2
Not much difference between them from 1st impressions, ie subie has no fogs but has bigger side gills. Subie has clear lights I think, Toyota has some amber. I think it could boil down to the warranty and price points since the GT-86 is a Scion and the BRZ is a Subaru. Same idea insurance-wise. of course when Subaru drops the STI version in a couple months-years....watch out now lol. The TRD version should be nice as well. All speculation by me btw.

Same platform, Toyota did most of the chasis work and Subaru did the boxer engine for ideal f/r distribution. Which is why Mr. Stak should get on that quicktimes

So car is officially totaled. One thing that i'm confused about...the insurance company sent me a letter saying they don't want my car and that it's now in my hands for the disposal of it...hell i don't want my car either so what happens? does my insurance take it? or does the junkyard take it? in any case, there may be an opportunity for me to salvage some parts of the car...might go for the reverse light housings. gotta see what the garage says i can take.
btw i looked at the BRZ and the FR-S...they look nice. both are RWD right? would not bode well for NY winters...plus they're coupes...i need a sedan for my parents and passengers...and i think the steering wheel looks ugly...hahah

^ If you're at no fault and your insurance doesn't want the car most likely the other party insurance is paying and you need to contact them before you do anything with the car.

thanks.
does the g37 have 60/40 fold down seats? i know the new IS's do but for the same standard features of a TSX on an IS, would cost me probably 10k+ on the TSX price
#99
^I think the seats fold down on the coupes only. I checked the infiniti site and couldn't find info on fold-down seats for the sedan, but I could for the coupe

The genesis sedan has been revised for 2012, it's worth a second look imo. That said, you can't go wrong with another tsx. Volvo styling is meh, the buick doesn't fit my tastes, lincoln is okay but outdated now...i guess there aren't many options now lol. Or you could go American with the new 300

Yeah if I was in that position, and not looking for a faster, sportiers, less door car, i'd get another TSX.
That being said if I ever have to replace this car, I probably will be going for a faster, sportier, less door car. LOL.

I prefer 4 doors because people are reckless when entering and exiting the rear of the car in a coupe. Plus it's easier to keep it clean back there

sorry to hear that wify
i think a tsx is really what you are looking at that fits all your requirement.
i'd also suggest STI, the IS WITH F sport package, used evo maybe? 4dr civic si? MAYBE a genesis. maybe.

WTH happened to my garage
That is completely bizarre. Both companies say they don't want it? I wonder if the engine/trans mount bosses are damaged making salvage undesireable?
#108
well my insurance company hasn't said anything to me about the car. but seeing as how they're not paying me for the car, i don't think it matters? i'm gonna have to talk to the garage to see what happens now. i'll let you guys know once i find out. i was so caught off guard by that letter too...was like wtf???

For example, say your car was worth a fair value of 20k(guess) before the accident. After the accident, your salvaged TSX might have a value of around 5k-6k(if it has serious frame damage). It would cost them a lot to bring it back to sellable conditions, which would mean they have no interest in it. However, because they aren't interested in it, it means they will write you a check for a minimum of $15k. What you can now do is recoup that money yourself, which, from my experience, you will easily recoup that money, and even make more for parting the car out. I've seen TSX's in far worse frontal collisions that have no engine damage. The TSX's engine has a fair market value price of 2000-2500 right off the bat. You have A LOT of opportunities to sell interior parts, trim pieces, and what not. I would take the car back. But, that's just me.

Be careful here man. Insurance companies like to write you a check minus the car that they are not taking in from a salvage. This way, they end up paying less money upfront. I wouldn't touch that car until your lawyer gave you the green light to go ahead with whatever plan is next for your TSX. With that said, them giving you a check with a sum removed for them not taking your car, is not always a bad thing, especially on cars that keep their value well, like your TSX.

In terms of parting out the car, yea I could do that, but finding the time to look for a buyer of parts and paying the auto place to help me take out other stuff like the engine for instance, is quite a bit of hassle. Plus I don't even have a car to get to the auto place myself. I could borrow my dad's car but it's still a hassle. I'll see what happens then decide on a course of action. If I do get to part it out, my azine bros have first dibs. KillerG already called an odd part...but he's an odd ball so it fits...

BRZ and FR-S are both looking pretty good but...like I said rwd + ny winters probably doesn't bode well. Plus seems like the interior might be lacking in a lot of stuff that the TSX has to offer. For now, I'm pretty set on getting another TSX only cuz there's been nothing else that interests me that much.

Sounds good. Keep us posted and take pics. I'm assuming you don't like the tl, right?
