I have a PWP TSX and was wondering if anyone added tint to their TSX?

The only thing that is stopping me now, is that it looks like it might be too much trouble to remove the center brake light, and I wanted the film to be evenly added to the entire rear window. In my TL I had the rear brake light removed as well as the tint slid under the plastic covers on the rear smaller sections on the passenger doors, it's hard to explain, but there was a trim on the TL rear doors, that some tint shops would just cut around, instead of slipping the film under, so the outside of the window all looks one shade.

So I was wondering is I can have an even shade. If not, I would probably not tint.

Just ask the shops when you call for quotes.

Also, check the photograph gallery for pics. People have already tinted their cars.

Anyone from NY area tinted their '09 TSX with Tom from 212 motoring? He has some other shop in Mnahattan he works out of too, he did my TL, used to put on felt for the TL owners, I think we have felt on the TSX though.

I don't have any pics but my tint guy was able to get the tint in between the CHSML and the rear glass without removing it.

Some shops have a computer program that cuts the sheets exactly for the particular model car. It's hard to explain, but it's a large plotter (a printer kinda-sorta that generates large blueprints, but instead of a "pen" it has a knife) that trims out a whole car *exactly* from one car to the next and spits out window shaped pieces of film.

I did mines, and they look beautiful.. the place I did it, Tint King in Billerica MA, has a plotter that prints out the exact fit. But the tint does not cover the center stop light....

to me, not covering that light in the back window is not an option.
I think that looks positively terrible.

tint the whole window or don't bother.

I agree 100%. I saw a pwp with maybe 35% tint and the brakelight wasnt covered. It looked absolutely nasty. If they cant cover the breaklight, dont get it.

^^ I totally agree. There is a 2G TSX here at work that has tint around the break light. It looks horrendous. Its the first thing I noticed when I looked at the back of the car

I bet that cut-out is because of Fed, State or local legality and if a dealer installs it, they probably *have* to do it like that.

Man, I'm glad my, ahem, friend had his tinted to cover the light and got his windshield done really light, too. When I ride in, ahem, his car it's always cooler than one without.

I had my tint done by my dealer and as you can see the whole back window is covered.

There ya go...it looks like mine...but much cleaner. =P

Like I said, it could be a dealer corporate decision or a city or county thing, every dealer is different from one end of the country to the other.

Thanks guys, I just wanted to make sure it was doable.......I will just make sure the person who tints it is able to do it the right way before I tint the windows....I am thinking 35% is it too dark? I just know that a white car will have a bigger contrast to darker tint, I don't want a target on the car for cops to pull be over.

But 50% seems like its too light, I guess it's more for UV protection than anything else.
