When is 'B' service

My minder is at 40%, with 22,000 kms (13,600 miles).

I had one service.. an oil change at about 13,000kms, and just got an email from Acura reminding me I would soon be due for another.

Will I be due for a 'B' service next (I believe). Seems like a lot of work/cost for so early in the cars life. Even GM has 160,000km/100,000mi spark plugs

Do you guys/gals get all of this work done?

A. Oil Change: Call for details

B. Oil Change & General Inspection: Call for details
1. Rotate Tires: Call for details
2. Replace Air Cleaner & Filter, Inspect Drive Belt: Call for details
3. Replace Transmission Fluid: Call for details
4. Replace Spark Plugs: Call for details
5. Replace Engine Coolant: Call for details

no way! its way too soon to be changing tranny fluid, coolant and spark plugs.

just get another oil change, tire rotation and clean the air filter.

What was your mileage at your first oil change and what was the percentage left? The average I've run across has been at 5k-10k for the first change. With percentages anywhere from 20% to service due now or in some cases service past due. A and B services are treated the same at most dealers, they usally cost the same as well. Oil change and full vehicle inspection with the 29 point inspection sheet that is given to the guest at the end of the service. Now a good rule of thumb to get the maxium out of your tires should be to rotate time every 5 to 7k. Which would be A1 or B1 service. However the system may or may not tell you to rotate them every 5-7k. As for the 1,2,3,4,5 you only need those done when they come up not when it says B service it will say B1, or B12 or B15 etc depending on previous repairs and the maintance system. Acura typically recomends tranny fluid replacement (which is a drain and refill which takes around 3 quarts, Acura does not recomend any flushing what so ever) around 40-60k depending on how the fluid looks and then every 30k after that. The spark plugs are 100k plugs, but should be inspected around 60k-80k. As for filters I don't know the exact milage Acura recomends but like I said before most dealers include a 29 point inspection sheet which will cover all fluids, filters, tires, brakes etc... which should give you a good idea about when you need to replace them.

I did not get the B12 service until 42,000km. Don't worry about the email from dealer, just follow the Maintenance minder from your car. Your next service minder will probably another A1 service in a few months depending how much you drive.

I think all of those things depend on the age and mileage of the car at the time of service. Not all "B" services will require spark plugs. On the 1G TSX, spark plugs are good for 100k or 110k miles.
