Water/Methanol injection for k24?
I am thinking of injecting a 50/50 mix since our engine is high compression and probably could benefit from it. Temps in Cali get high in the summer so it could help cool it down a bit. Has anyone done it already? Snow performance once sold a kit that used the MAF/MAP as the controller. I also would need a tune, Ktuner claims they support my ECU. Is anyone willing to offer any insight? I like my 2012 SwagOn wagon but it could use a little more oomph. That being said my friend who owns a stage 2 tuned twin turbo v6 BMW was impressed by the build quality of my wagon. I am not considering a forced induction build just yet but who knows in the future. It would definitely need an LSD at that point through.

Well, it comes with a 3-quart reservoir, that's .75 gallon. I wonder if my windshield washer reservoir is bigger... anyways it has a low-level sensor and I'm going to wire it up to my check engine light so it bugs me unless I fill it. if I am going this route then I will just buy the pre-distilled 49/51 mix in bulk. handling pure methanol is bad m'kay. I don't see any problems so far, I just have no idea if the controller will work with my MAF. That's why I'm asking if anyone has done it here.

The point of this is to make the car more fun without altering drivability and reliability. More power = more fun. A tune is what people recommend to get the most out of it but what good is a tune on an almost stock car? I got tired of my TSX 2.4 vtec engine sounding like a Prius engine so I threw an intake in there. Now it sounds nothing like a Prius and that's fun. Did I lose some power? Who knows, my 3rd gear still slips so not a lot changed. I am wondering if some meth and a tune will bring some TQ to the table. I am not asking for massive numbers I just want some tangible, feelable results.

I really doubt this engine is on the edge of detonation or the knock count is high enough that injecting methonol will help.
Give it a shot though. Be interesting to see what happens. Are you planning on dynoing it?

very inconvenient to run meth on a daily... if you run out, your car is no longer "fun"
a tune on a stock car completely transforms the car...and will never run out.
