Wagon Owners - Very Important Critical Matter:

Have you bought your wagon-specific exhaust yet?

https://acurazine.com/forums/second-...-wagon-945220/

I can't say for sure, but I've heard that getting one of these will make you more attractive to the opposite sex. And more attractive to the same sex. Plus it'll improve eyesight, moisturize dry skin, and allegedly will help with "bedroom performance issues".

Of course, we all know that wagon owners don't need help with that last thing, but you could probably loan your exhaust equipped wagon to your buddy Kurt with the Mercedes. He'd probably thank you (rather his wife would probably thank you).

He might even buy you a beer after. So really this thing could pay for itself over time if you loan it to enough buddies and they keep buying you beers.

Just think about it.

But while you think about it, buy an exhaust.

You wouldn't have to loan it to your buddy Kurt AND his wife would still thank you - and buy you a beer.

The downside is that rockyboi would want to buy a wagon then and we'd be stuck with his trolling here.

As an unimportant aside to this discussion - what advantages will I get from this exhaust? Will it add the 50hp I lost when I drove to Santa Fe? I suspect that I'll find them - right around the gas station that advertises the world's cleanest bathrooms. They must be hiding that one in the back somewhere - reserved for wagon owners with the fancy exhaust..

Are you talking about Buc-ee's?

Advantages of the exhaust? Probably a couple horses freed up. A bit more rumble in the tone. But not 50 hps.

That's probably about it. But for some, that's enough. I have a little passenger that like the sound of "racecars" so I told him I'd get one for the wagon. That's my reason.

Do you have any graphs showing gains? What's the weight savings? Is there any drone? I think for me, the biggest gain horsepower and weight sackings. The lack of drone would be nice as well. If that info can be shared with us, that would be great!

Well, it doesn't exactly exist. Which was the entire crux of the matter. You can click through the links to find some videos with sounds. Not the greatest quality recordings, but you can get the gist.

You can probably figure it'll be similar to other exhausts for 4-cylinder Hondas. There will be *some* weight savings and *some* power gains. But it's not making a 10 second car or anything.

I bet @AckTL05 might be able to get an idea of the weight savings, roughly, based on the 1 or 2 completed Sedan versions he's done.

I doubt anyone has dyno info yet.

True. I guess when I'm thinking about modifications, I immediately think weight savings. In this case, I don't think it's that big a deal. (I have a CR as the summer car so my mind shifts to that whenever I start thinking mods)
Thanks for the info!

It's just that the TSX is a boat already when you look at Power to weight Ratio. Most people carry a purse heavier than the aftermarket parts they claim are "huge weight savings". U nless you are dropping 400lbs in weight for the track.. it really shouldn't matter too much

The couple of pounds you might save on this exhaust is all part of a balanced diet - errr - car.

Yeah, the weight savings won't bring much. As a side note though, while losing 45lbs didn't make my TSX any quicker, I do find the seats more comfy now.

^^ ceb gets it.

Same reason to install the v6 fog light and center grille: less plastic = faster car.

I think ssjoe is just salty because he wasted all that money on a supercharger just to gain a few ponies.

And risk the bags of groceries tipping over?

No thank you.

Truth be told, I'd be tempted once warranty is over and it stops smelling like a new car. Probably about the time WagonJr would get to start driving it. I may or may not be keeping my eyes peeled all the time for people selling a SC kit for cheap that I could squirrel away for later.

you do realize you can get pretty much any exhaust put on your car, right? Like, it's no sweat for a muffler shop to put a cat back system on the wagon. You can either do a brand name one, or a no name. Gains are more or less the same. This way you don't have to try and find a dozen other wagon owners to go in on getting the exhaust made. Just saying!

I'm lazy.

Box shows up at the house. I drag it into the carhole. A couple months later when A) it's cool enough, B) it's not too cold (I'm delicate), and C) I absolutely have no remaining excuses not to... I'll jack the car up and bolt it on.

Going to a muffler shop means doing something on a schedule, and worse, interacting with a real human in the really-real world.

That's not for me.

Fuck off, fuck joe. Just get it done. You just set up a car meat and greet. Don't tell me you don't like people.

Theres nothing special about exhausts, unless you're getting an all titanium one. Other than that, you're just paying for the exhaust tip(s). Find one(s) you like and a shop can make it work on your car. Otherwise it's just mandrel bent tubing. That, or go to a muffler shop. They likely have a whole catalogue for you to choose from.

So maybe cul0 just sees it as a challenge. "how many people can i get to join in on this group buy so i can get one"

and if it doesn't go through, then he doesn't get an exhaust.

I'm not convinced he really wants one but if the price of entry is right, he'll do it.
If it falls through, he'll live with him OEM one for the time being

At least that's how I'm reading him

so then what's the harm in him trying?

best case, he gets a cool exhaust and spends some money
worst case, he is in the same place as before not having spent a penny

sounds like a low risk high rewards type situation to me

Haha, I just think he can have his cake and eat it too. He gets an exhaust without going through the hassle of finding many others who have to commit to it as well, is all.

Then Jr. can listen to race car sounds all the time!

That was the realization I came to after I initially asked the weight question and saw the responses. The wagon is already a massive boat.

On a side note, I'll be kicking my own ass if I'm carrying a purse, regardless of weight.

Yeah that's pretty much it.

The long story starts over a year ago when Greddy teased that they were making an exhaust for the TSX by showing a prototype installed on a car. And then promptly went silent for a year. Then, out of nowhere, Endless announces they're making one which got the juices flowing again and I started harassing Bruce about a wagon fitment.

Realizing that the wagon is pretty much a forgotten and overlooked model and that while there is little to no love for aftermarket 2G TSX stuff; the wagon is even lower than that.

So when Bruce decided to actually make a wagon specific exhaust and not just sell a spool-piece to make up the extra length (Fact: Wagon owners are longer than Sedan owners), I figured I should back up my e-claims that "I'd buy one if it were available" by buying one if it were available.

And here we are. I *know* that the exhaust is pretty pointless. I don't *need* one. But there's an opportunity. If it all falls through, presumably I get my money back and just keep on keeping on. It's almost zero effort to click "buy" and then sit on the internets poking at other people to do the same.

There is greater than zero effort required to go to a shop and talk to them about getting a catback made up. I really wasn't exaggerating much about the dealing with people bit... If it were up to me, I'd pull the curtains and never leave the house again.

So yeah, like thoiboi said... It happens or it doesn't. I'm not sure I really want the brrp brrp enough to put in any effort to get it. (That sounds really lazy, even for me )
