Very long time lurker with 2012 Wagon!
Hello my name is Mark, and I've been with the community for a while now browsing and reading post on this particular section since we bought the car back in 2012, and now the car is now mine to mod and have fun with it. Its was my wife's car but we just bought a new SUV for my her to drive. I'll post some stock pictures up later on and in a week or two, I will be installing new things on it, and a lot of the mods going on it has been bought last year.

Hi Mark.
I can tell you're an awesome guy because you said you have a wagon.
That's awesome!

gotta compensate a little- lower it or put a rack on it? i'm thinking about racing stripes because I think it would look good and because it's kind of funny. My wife drives an SUV too- less kid destruction for me!

J___23, Looking forward to what you're going to do. We have a M-B SUV but this is my daily driver. Easier to reach the cargo, more internal cube and much better mileage—what's not to like?!

Great shot of a beautiful car. Just got a 2012 in graphite gray, put our kayaks up on it today. Loving it. Scene looks like our where our second home is in the Fenwick Island area of southern Delaware.

'Close to you Lester.... this was shot at Assateague about 2mi from the bridge over to the ocean parks. I would have preferred your Gray but end up liking Black. However, I think the paint is S___t. They used incredibly weak, or thin, clearcoat. I'm surprised Honda's premium brand was not finished better than a Kia. Still, a good car.

While some paints polish easier than others, the idea of "soft" paint is absurd.
What is true is that darker colors will show defects, scratches and swirls more - just because of the way light is reflected. I had a guy tell me once that he thought it was ridiculous that the nice new black BMW had more scratches that his two year old Hyundai. His Hyundai was white. In fact, the Hyundai had far more scratches but they weren't as visible.

Ceb, "... idea of "soft" paint is absurd..." Not exactly. Clearly, no OEM or repair shop would shoot enamel, but the water-based or low VOC urethanes base coats are mighty thin and if the clearcoat is also shot thin, then you have the paint I have on my car. In the five cars I have had in 15 years or so, only the 2001 Ford Escape had an equally weak paint job.
I don't shoot a lot (and no cars), but I have sprayed both single stage and bc/cc, and I can get a better result than this Acura, but I don't have a schedule or a bean counter looking over my shoulder. The clear I like the best at the moment is from SPI. A lot of the car show hot rods and motorcycles use their coatings. I am sure they would be too fussy for any OEM to use.
