TSX VS 350Z : Handling!

I just thought it would be a fun discussion. I originally wanted to buy a 350z but decided against it. I am a student with a low income and I did not want to pay extra for insurance and gas. The TSX won because it was still a little fun and sporty but WAY MORE REALISTIC and probably reliable.

Anyone in here that has owned or driven both? I know the handling has good ratings on the TSX and that is what won me over on it. Do you think it handles better than a 350z? I read a few places that the Z does not handle that great. Kind of numb. And the visibility is not as good either.

For a daily driver a Z might not have been logical for me at this time. BUT I have always loved them and the design of them.

the 350z is the better car ALL around.
far better handling, far better acceleration, far better EVERYTHING.

two completely different cars.
if you wanted to compare fairly, the 3rd gen TL was a tiny bit faster around a track than the G35.
which, THEY were direct competitors....not the TSX.

BUTTT WHO CARES???
if you are happy with your car, then that's all that matters!!!!!

Ohhh cool! Yeah just curious man!!! I want a 350z so bad! I have a new girlfriend and I hung out with her and her son the other day..

and I thought "I could have ruined a date if I had the 350z" haha because only 2 seats.

Yeah I really like my car.. But the 350z is still my dream car.. So the handling is that good? Wow. I read on a few car review sites that it has "numb steering" and bad visibilitty.

So you are saying it is far better than the TSX in 4 passenger capability & comfort?

The 350Z is a better performance car than the TSX. The TSX is a better practical car than the 350Z. The TSX V6 was the fastest/quickest car in Acura line up till the TLX & NSX arrival.

Matt Lumpkins 04-21-2019 12:10 PM

Yeah I love my TSX. BUT It doesn't look quite as cool as a 350z.. But I kind of like that the TSX is a little more subtle because I don't always like attracting too much attention.

Still wish I had a 350z though. Or a 370z Nismo.

I got a TSX because I knew it would cost much less to maintain and to put gas in it.

Looks cool now

No.
Never did I say that...

It's all up to the user. If the the user wanted a RWD coupe that can carve corners, then that is what one should buy.

However, since we're driving sedans, that's not what we want, is it?

If you want something cool that is still practical, look at a used G37 or IS-F... But they will cost you in gas!

Midnight Mystery 04-21-2019 05:44 PM

Or check out an Audi A4/S4 but it will cost you... In maintenance....

Yeah dude! German cars are so dope, but there is no way I can afford the maintenance on them!!! Someday though, I want to get an M3.

The IS F seems super practical and fast. I have actually been checking those out! I have found a few in the 20k range and that is not bad at all.. They look a little boring but its worth it for what is under the hood.

I'm actually considering an IS250/350 for myself...

If you could find an IS350 F-Sport, that should be a very sweet ride!

The IS250 is very comparable to your TSX in terms if power/handling!

I drove one a couple of weeks ago and loved it!

It was super comfortable and quiet and handled really well! Good suspension dampening provides a smooth yet solid (not floaty) ride!

However, in your case, I think a G35/37 would be a great car to consider! They are fast and loud! Very sporty, some luxury, but more sporty!

The IS is more pure luxury with sporty driving characteristics, much like an Audi.

Midnight Mystery 04-22-2019 06:25 PM

By IS F, do you mean the F-Sport package, or the "F" model? They are very different!

Matt Lumpkins 04-22-2019 11:49 PM

I meant the IS F from 2008 era that is 400hp

Midnight Mystery 04-23-2019 01:17 AM

Ok... Those are pretty rare but SUPER awesome!

 If you got one of those... :pimp:

Majofo 04-23-2019 10:45 AM

350Zs are dirt cheap.. I know you said you're in school and low income, but if you saved you could get one.
If you really don't need a 4 seater, get the 350Z and get it out of your system

It's fun, but there's way more fun to be had with some 4 door rides you can slide into at about the same price point
335s are dirt cheap.. you said IS-F, but even the IS350 is a blast with reliability.. list goes on.
Heck a Golf.. tons of practicality and tons of support.

CCColtsicehockey 04-24-2019 07:25 AM

Comparing 350z to TSX  Apples to Oranges....end of story.

That said the mention of the ISF caught my attention. Great car, reliable, and loads of run. 08-09 do have a water pump issue though that is a bit of a pain.

rawger 04-27-2019 07:58 PM

ISF is not a great car to daily with 16 city/23 highway estimated mpg and probably much worse if you have a heavy foot.

If you don't care about gas, different story of course.

Midnight Mystery 04-27-2019 08:30 PM

Get an IS350 and mod the suspension!

The IS350 is still really fast... 0-60 in 4.6 seconds and can attain 30+ mpg highway!

I agree. If I were to get rid of my TSX right now, I would be choosing from the IS350 F-Sport or Infiniti Q50S. You get reliability, power, luxury and RWD. But for now, the TSX is getting the job done, so I'll keep it for now since it's paid off with new tires and brakes done recently.

FLYGUY31 05-02-2019 01:06 PM

You are making a smart decision and are being fiscally responsible. Good move. Keep saving and one day you will be able to afford whatever you want.
Stay the course and buy what you can afford and still be happy with. Too many people buy with emotion only to be miserable because they can't buy a hotdog they are so in debt.

The TSX is a good starter car...My first car was a Dodge Omni...look that up and you will see you are in a good place!
