Tein s tech disappointed
Okay out my s tech springs on today, and I must say hate the look. Got a big drop in the back and the front not So much. So the back kinda looks like a sagging ass. Anyone else experience this with s techs? Maybe it will even out a bit with some more driving but overall I'm kinda pissed. And yeah I installed them correct. Any input? Thanks

MOST of the time, these aftermarket companies do not put the $ in R&D and are only for cosmetic/aesthetic reasons.
thus after market springs arent the best way to go, unless the company put extensive R&D into them to match them to certain shocks...you most likely paired them to stock shocks. a shorter spring will exacerbate or quickly deteriorate the stock shock's life.
THUS, why most people go for adjustable coilovers, so that you have control over height and damping.
if you dont like the look, take them off and go back to stock or buy coilovers to get the exact look are you going for.

Maybe I was being Impatient at the time of my op... the front dropped some, my commute is 150 miles when I got home I was surprised. Not exactly where id like it, but shit can be perfect I bought springs not coils.

He said his rears are lower than the front.
If he flipped the springs, the opposite would happen.
The front and rear spring seats are also very different, IIRC. The front spring is much narrower in diameter at the seat.
OP...did you buy them from a Tein dealer? Have you tried contacting Tein?
Your earlier post says maybe you just exaggerated the issue and the car looks fine?
Photos of the car and the springs will help people help you.
If you have stock wheels and/or no camber correction, the rear will look quite a bit lower than the front. Measuring with measuring tape will rule out your eyes playing tricks on you.

Lower your Acura TSX (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012) 1.6 inches in the front and 1.4 inches in the rear.

There's no way, Hondas have such a different look to them...part numbers are different etc...even lettering should be right side up to get orientation.
I'd be shocked (

What I will say, is let it settle...new springs will settle...and usually the rear coils are not as compact thus they squat and settle first (sometimes as soon as you put that fat ass car back on the ground).
In addition to that...if it's minute visual adjustments for the perfect drop...you can achieve that with adjusting camber in the rear to lift up some and match the front drop...
worst case, you can cut a dead coil...after 2 years of face down ass up on my ex wife's accord...I cut a dead coil and it sat perfectly.
Right way is to get coilovers obviously...and tein basis are so cheap it makes sense over replacing shocks if you get to that point.
I've found H&R sport USUALLY give a perfect drop right out of the box for an older guy that doesn't want to be slammed anymwhore.

The rear motion ratio is close to 1:1. Only 40% of the total weight is in the back.
The front has like a 1.6:1 MR and 60% of the total weight.
Rear springs, for that reason, are about 1/2 the spring rate of the front.
Rear shocks also have different length dimensions as compared to the front.
If you managed to use a rear spring on the front...the front would be slammed. Rear springs are MUCH softer than fronts.
I doubt the rear springs will physically sit on the front shocks because, as I remember it, the rear spring seat is like 2X the diameter of the front.

Lowering springs are an estimated drop, and are almost always a huge set of compromises.
They are, however, cheap. S techs are under $200. So for someone looking to do a mod without spending any money, they work.
In the old days, people prefered lowering springs on street cars because coilovers mostly rode like shit and were all expensive. Today, that's not the case...and you're absolutely correct that a properly calibrated and applied set of coilovers is the way to go.

You had something odd going on with your image code. You just need to use [img] your picture url (dot) jpg [/ img] without the additional boarder and sizing info.
Or, you can use the "insert image" icon when creating the post (
) and it'll save it locally on AZine's server. This should protect against image hosting changes/crashes/photobucket-deciding-to-charge-everyone-and-break-links/etc.
