Stupid Race: Lexus ES350 v. TSX V6
Outside Charlotte closer to Greensboro on a 4 lane I-85, I'm (white TSX) drumming along in the second lane about 70mph listening to XM. Traffic is light.
I check the rear view mirror and see a white Lexus riding my ass. I hit the blinker and move over. They follow right in behind me. So I mash the gas and jump to 90 mph in a few seconds and out him 20 car lengths behind.
I pull back to 70 and he comes around the left and cuts in front of me, does a brake check, and hits the window washer (which sprays my windows.) I'm too old to race, but enough is enough.
He goes back into the left lane, and I punch to about 85 to put some distance between us. Then he comes on the left side at a least 110mph, and I said BS. The first time I ever floored the TSX, and she was mowing the lawn. Ran that Lexus bitch down, and when he was going to cut in front again, I was at his passenger door and gaining.
He jerked in behind me, and I washed my windshield. He took the next exit.
Stupid all the way around. This crap gets people killed. I'm disappointed in myself for getting provoked like that.

Don't be too hard on yourself, you're only human after all. I go through this every day, and then I just think of my beautiful wife and what would happen to her if I 1) died or 2) went to jail. Then I just slow down and drive like a grandma. Of course, though, it doesn't always work. I keep trying.
Another thing I think about is when people used to laugh at me in school and provoke me in the same way. I know a few who now work at Foot Locker and McDonald's. Hey, I might have been a "loser" in some stupid little pissing contest, but I won in life.

at the other hand everyone makes fun of me that i drive like grandpa and its really hard to provoke me
as MrOto said we only humans and its ok to make mistakes but then its more important if we learn something from that mistake and try not to make one again

hey that was me in the lexus you asshole!! JKLuLz... wouldn't be caught dead in that.
im younger and i guess a bit easier to provoke, but i don't bother hitting over 95ish. i'd never do it with a decent number of cars on the road though. i'd mainly be the one brake checking and washing my windows though. if you can pass me, but instead ride me while im cruising at 75-80, you deserve to be braked. especially if im not even in the left lane. i only drive like a dick when people don't turn off their high beams, pisses me the fuck off. good job being mature though

I've floored mine so many times, i can't get enough of it.
I used to be like that when I got my first car in high school years back, messing with people and speeding everywhere I went. Once I got my first ticket(took 2 years) I grew out of it pretty quick. Now I usually drive normal/slow unless the road is relatively open which unfortunately doesn't happen enough.

Well the numbers would support my claims. But next time, I'll try to use my phone camera driving at 120. 
When I drive at that speed, two hands on the wheel and two eyes scanning the road and mirrors. Forget the gauges, tune out the radio, and plan for at least 4 times the distance to make lanes changes or braking procedures.

A lot of us live in a metro area and deal with the whole gamut of drivers out there and as others have said it's best to try and take the slow lane, sometimes.
At least you are introspective enough to see that you have room to grow
The thing that always worries me is who the other joker is that wants to go over 100 mph?

^ I believe a 2012/2011/2010 ES350... I remember seeing a glimpse of 350 when he brake checked. Hindsight being 20/20, I wish I just got his tag number and called the cops.
Of course the entire state and local police force was in a two mile radius because Obama was in town. I should have went to the other side of town and robbed a bank.

I wouldn't mess with a Lexus ES350. You saw the news last year, right? Runaway Toyota! 
It's either driven by a real estate agent that doesn't know how to hold down the start/stop button when the car speeds up against her will. Or the old man driving it had a stroke at the wheel and hit the gas. Either way....I'm keeping my TSX out of the way of those ES350s.

Happens to me all the time.
Smoked about 8 A4's from douchey teenagers.
Couple is250's and a few 328i's.
Its funny though cause one day I pulled up to a light and this A4 started flashing his blinkers and honking and they rolled down their window and were like...like car. That 200 horses must do you well (clearly didn't know i was in a v6). I roll down my window..."Sorry...I can't understand douchebags" Turns green... Smoke the shit out of him.

Best racing experience ever.

I drive like a grandma, love he middle lane,I admit it... Then there is always some Dbag coming up behind me flying and then rides my ass meanwhile there is no1 else on the highway & im not even in the left lane...Well I move to let him pass, then come up behind him, move into the left and let the Vtec kick in yo! Haha... It seems to be a lot of Hyundai owners here and I've had enough of THAT garbage LOL.

i love when people pull up next to me and try to race. i rev my engine, and they hear the resonator so they're like ok... maybe not a good idea, then at the light, they punch it, and i hit maybe 2-3k RPM hahaha. once the guy got pulled over right after. thats why you dont race on a public road

A few years ago when I was driving one of my many trips from dallas to houston, there was an older not so cool mercedes who was going way too fast.He passed me on the never ending boring stretch of I-45 going probably 90. Being young and thinking my car was cool, I decided to speed up and catch up to him. He slowed down a bit after passing me the first time, so I fly past him going 100. He didnt like this so he sped up too and matched me for a few minutes. He then got ballsy and passed me again going something near 120. I then said screw that guy its not worth it, so i slow back to the speed limit. About 20 minutes later in my trip i see him pulled over getting a ticket. I laughed the rest of the way home.

Yea it's def not worth it... That's happened to me as well except the person wasn't getting a ticket, the car was flipped over the guard rail in the median

Can't also assume that provoker was a member of CLUBLEXUS.
I have many friends on CLUBLEXUS and they are a very classy group of folks and have attended many of their meets as well.

I've seen kids and numbnuts try to fly their car for merely 30" and then slow down, I do not consider those are good drivers, left alone racers.
