sorry might be kinda hard to see in the video but to answer your question, No it does not leave the car unlocked.

when i hit the "start" botton, it will first unlock the doors, start the car, and lock the car back.

so the car will be running with the doors locked.

installation is included so $399 total. from what i can see, they did a great job. works great, cant see anything (wires, damages, etc.), but you might want to go to your local Bestbuy and get a feel for the shop and personel.

Thank you for the information. I will have to stop by my two local best buys and see what kind of experience they have!

Wait, so you can lock/unlock independant of starting the car?

I was quoted $460 at my local best buy. They said that i have to have something else with either of the 3000 or 4000. I have a couple other places I'm gonna check out. Unless I can find a DIY guide on here. Been looking just nothing yet.

I had mine insatlled at Best Buy also. I think it was $515 after everything was said and done. It has to be installed by a "professional" per Viper, so DIY is not an option, yet. If you go to the Viper web site it'll explain why.

I'm on the fence with this one, Amazon reviews say it's not that good. But I really really want it to be. Can someone who owns this address some of the reviews?

I actually just got the 5701 installed in my '11 TSX a few weeks back. I've been on the fence about the Smart Start module but think it may be fun and useful all the same. I wonder how much it will cost to have installed after i've already had the alarm and additional sensors (glass, tilt) installed.

OP - Do you know if the iPhone app will receive "security" messages when the sensors on the car are tripped?

I had this system for over 6months now and have not been let down once. works 100% of the time. As you see in my video previously posted, gives "command recieved" notice back weatehr if its starting, locking, or unlocking the car.

but i do have to say that when i first ask the guys at best buy, i did hear some negative reviews of not starting but they said it sometimes depend on where the installer places the reciever unit. so i specifically had them install my unit at highest point under the front dash and by the window and not hidden under the front pillar.

they did tell me they actually had to do relocating unit after a customer had complained but after relocating, customer was happy so i jumped on it.

i would definitly rate it 5 starts (may be 4.5 due to cost).

i have had my car and used this system in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and tenn so far and worked fine everywhere.

Starting car means you are going to drive it... why start you car via a cell phone if you are blocks away or even a few feet? To get it hot or cold depending on the weather?

So when you get to the car its hot/cold depending on the weather. Not a necessity but then neither is half of the stuff car guys/girls add, its personal preference.
