Oh nice. I ordered mine. I held back because I just couldnt see how that little piece of metal is $70 but Its not like I have options anyway. I just got notified that mine wont get shipped out till Thursday because they arent in stock. Sucks, if I knew, I would of ordered off of ebay. At least they have them in stock.

yeah the price baffles me a bit, but in the end i think you will enjoy it. I just ordered a weighted shift knob, which should make the shifting even better.

I just found out that this shifter fits the following:
TSX 04+
TL 04-08 6MT
Accord 03-07 6MT

Same part for all just different instructions.

You can get this for $70 shipped from other places online. I hate to do this but hey, we have to save cash where available.

@gameover is there any difference in this short shifter adapter than the CT-E one? or are they the same thing? Also I was reading on the heeltoe website about the hybrid shifter bushings. They are supposed to be better than the aluminum ones. wasn't sure if you had noticed them or not.

The CT-e is the shifter adapter and thats what he used. Am I mistaken?

Our shift knobs are already weighted from factory. The one you posted is 440g, that about one pound. I would weight your factory shift knob before buying an aftermarket one. If you do, please let use know how heavy the factory knob is. I dont have a scale that shows grams, or else I would do it.

On that note, I was once told that really heavy shift knobs are harsh on our shifter cables. I even had a buddy with a 94 accord and he busted one of his shifter cables with a heavy knob. Im sure he was also beating on it. If you do get one, I wouldnt shift super hard. I would just get a heavier shift knob for the easier throws and shift normal.

I noticed the bushings on the heeltoe site, but when i spoke to marcus directly he mentioned that they are not for the 09+ tsx's. They havent made any yet.

in regards to the shift knob, i dont shift hard to begin with, but as you said just for the easier throws.

I dont know how i would weigh the original knob, but when i get the new one i will do a quick comparison, and let you know how it feel in my hands in regards to weight, and the difference in shifting if any.

Do you have one of those small kitchen scales? Or a postage scale?

FYI, The stock shift knob weighs exactly 240 grams or half a pound.
The length is 60mm and the threading goes 30mm in.

Check post #218 for pics of it installed.

is definitely heavier, and makes quite the difference when shifting.

Did you install the shifter yourself? How hard was the install?

I just installed mine yesterday. I did it in a hurry to (wrong thing to do but I don't have much time to work on my car lately). It was a little difficult. I had to remove the shiftk knob, center console and unbolt the entire shifter assembly. I was able to install it without completely removing the shifter assembly from the car. A pain in the butt but I got er done.
Shifting is slightly harder but I love how short the shifts are. It took off almost an inch off of every shift. Now I need to get a heavier shift knob for easier shifting. It was worth the $70.

Listen people. It's a short shifter! If you think you would like
Your shifts shorter, then get it. I love it. It's not a downgrade and it doesnt make it hard to put into gear.
If you're thinking about it then just get it cuz its worth it! Or if your scared, do some research on how short shifters work. I have one and so does gameover69, we love it plain and simple.

hey ssjoe... in my opinion, its harder as in its not as smooth a shift... its stiffer, and requires a bit more effort.... but that being said... once you put it a weighted shift knob... its as smooooooth as butta brotha!

Just to add to the thread, the combination of the short shifter adapter and a weighted shift knob is a must have for any cu2 6spd owner. I absolutely love it.

Wow I have never seen so much debate and over analyization on one of the simpliest mods, it's a short shifter, it makes shift travel shorter that's it. As far as how much more effort to shift in gears with it is probably minimal. What do you think you will need both hands to shift in gear now with it. You either will like it or not, if not take it off.

I agree. Some people just over think simple mods like this one and they end up biting their nails over it lol. Ive had plenty of short shifters in my cars over the years and I never thought twice about doing it.

Man this little thing is a lot harder than expected. From start to finish took my 5 hours (Only because I was gone for about 2.5 hours to go out and eat for a friend's birthday) but in total time of actually doing work maybe 2 hours. After my DIIY install should take 1-1.5 hours cause you'll know how to get everything off.

Nice! Might be something to do down the line. Coming from a fully modded Mk5 Rabbit I found the short shift and CNC bushings made the shifts very short, but slightly knotchy, with difficulty in 5th. At this point I am in love with our smooth buttery shifts in the CU2.
