Replacement Headlight assembly

Wanting to replace my headlight housings but having a hard time justifying the $500+ cost per side.

Does anyone have experience/review of aftermarket OEM style replacements?

Example: 2009-2013 Acura TSX Headlight 2010 2011 2012 1-Pair (HID Type, w/o Ballast) - AutoLightsBulbs.com

dont buy! sand down plastic housing and then coat with a clear.
3m and others make a kit for it.

I have sanded it down. It did not turn out well... there are strange groves in the lenses. I recently sanded again stepping from 400 - 1000 - 1500 - 2000 then clear coating, and sanded and clear coated two more times to try to disguise the grooves. They look okay from a distance but I'm not satisfied.

the problem with buying aftermarket headlights is that the projector lens is subpar to acura's.
i would go through sanding process again, but if you truely cant get the grooves out...maybe buying used would be better than buying the aftermarket ones

Thinking the same...

I am looking into getting a ceramic coating for the paint too, so perhaps I'll just have it all done at once.

I would suggest this kit, it's what I used, results were good but I need to find a better sealant as it's already looking like I need to do it again. lasted about a year.

The trick to make the sanding/repair last is to protect the headlight with film. You can mail order DYI kits or find a place that does paint protection and ask them to cut a piece to fit the headlight.

I've done a couple kits. The headlights have some kind of damage I think. I'll see if a professional can get it out.

Edit: I'll take a photo later.

Almost looks like there is some kind of clear vinyl on it that has been damaged by the sun.

Capt. It looks like your clear reacted with a chemical left on the lens... ??

While close to the subject, anybody get the haze out of the inside? The actual lamp illuminates sort of a haze on the inside. Thanks. Jim
