Price check....looking at selling or trading our 09 base

We are looking to possibly sell or trade our 139k white base tsx. It's hard to pin down a price to sell private party. But kbb puts it around 7400 for private party. We're second owners. kbb instant offer says it will give $6400.

Is this pretty much in the ballpark?

price it at $6k to get rid of it quickly

or you can try your luck pricing it higher in the $7000-6400 range, but then you are competing with others in that range

We paid $9600 for a 2009 base TSX with 96K miles last October from a private seller. It was a one-owner car with all maintenance records and clean history. Check https://www.carfax.com/value/ for an idea of its value based on VIN history.

Sweet, thanks. Sometimes with an older car it's has to gauge value.

We're getting 6500 as a trade 139k and one deer hit.

It may be less than private party value, but sometimes trading is not a bad option. In most states with sales tax on cars, you only pay tax on the difference and not on the fulll price of the car you buy. In Florida, that would be worth almost $400 in your case. It is also a lot less work than selling it yourself.

PA charges tax on the difference between the cost of the new car and the trade in value of the trade. Tax is 6% (plus some areas have an additional local tax.

If you trade your car in for $6400, then with the trade-in tax benefit it is like getting $6784.

Depends on your location and how popular the vehicle is their.

I say that's fair based of your mileage and model year.

Unfortunately the prices of the 2nd gen TSX have deflated hard and it's a buyers market.

I thought it was fair too. So what, i may have been able to get $7000? That little bit of extra money isn't worth it to sell it private party. I did take the a-spec wheels off and have been trying to sell them, but with no bites.

The new accord is really nice and i like driving it more than the tsx except it doesn't have xm.

How much if any difference do you think there would be for a 6 speed? I would imagine they go for a little more
