I live where there is snow. snow from October to May. remember that. lets call it NOTE 1.



Its a month in, about 700 miles, and the other day I wacked underside of front bumper not paying attention to the curbing. 4-5 good scratches in the painted part. ill get a pic. its on the very bottom but its there.

anyway, I havent had a non SUV since 1997......so this wont be the first accident. Plus remember NOTE 1.



i bought the 4 wheel mud guards but am having OTHER IDEAS.

I want to get the OEM side skirts and still use the rear mud guards. think that looks even "MORE BETTER" on a wagon/




so the query: is it worth the extra bux for the side kit even though I will never SLAM it. I am cetainly in for a 1 inch drop or so but not much more. roads here would never allow it LOL .

any other thoughts ideas about the look......sides and such.

or am i just wasting money if I am never going to slam it?

I am lowered with Eibach springs and I have the full kit, and I think it looks great. That said, admittedly it's pretty much 100% cosmetic. I would have second thoughts if I lived in a snowy area.

Oh, oh, I see. I was confused, sorry. I couldn't see how it would hurt the look. I guess the SE sedan isn't a bad frame of reference as it is at stock height with the side skirts

yeah i think it would look greatly improved over stock but the SNOW thing has me concerned; as well as Mr OC.

the drop will improve handling while the sides is only cosmetic is another point i think mr OC is making

and a well taken one. i would rather the handling improvement over cosmetic only.




one thing. i DO currently have an old Cherokee for the real bad weather.

when i say snow I am talking like say up to 6 inches.......a lot to some but not much for this place


only time I would use it in worse than 6 inches is bare necessity.

trying to talk myself into it LOL

Someone posted up a pic of the wagon with the Kit on it as well. It looked dope.
As far as skirts and flaps i cant picture it with only the flaps on the rear. i need a photoshop. Why not just do a SE outside ?

in that "spotted" thread we were starting, the first post, VBP wagon had the skirts and front bumper, though it was a shitty angle

Staying away from front bumper for now.......same with rear.

Q is do I go with full sides and rear flaps....flaps are optional.....

Or skip the sides since I got to deal with snow. .

Or skip the sides lower it and deal with the snow.

In my quest to keep all mods looking as close to possible to OE, I must say that the side skirts look too tacked on.

You experience with a curb would just be magnified if you lowered the car. It all comes down to form or function.

If you'd like to improve handling then you can add sway bars and higher performance tires. That will give you way more bang for the buck than a simple lowering.

If you're out for looks then a mild drop would look nice, but curbs are your enemy in the nice season and a couple of inches of snow might just stop you dead in your tracks.

If you're in a heavy snow fall area, then I assume you already have dedicated snows or something similar, so I'd get mud flaps and.... call it day. /thread.
