Oil Consumption TSB Warranty + CAI question
Good afternoon everyone. My 09 TSX AT has been burning a whole lot of oil lately and I figured it was the problem a lot of people were having. Took it to Acura today and they did a software update and will recheck in about 1000 miles and decide what to do in terms of correcting the problem. The service rep mentioned to me that my cold air intake (Takeda) is a liability in terms of getting the repairs covered under warranty. He said something about Air to Fuel ratio and burning more oil (doubt it) and I'll have to remove it in order to get the motor fixed under warranty anyone have any trouble with Acura and their aftermarket intakes ? I really don't want to take it off 😫.

Remove it like he hint-hint-wink-wink'd you and you should be good. He knows, he advised, listen to him.
Whether or not it has anything to do with the problem (hint, probably not), is not really pertinent to the discussion. Read between the lines and do it.
Or don't. And get denied warranty claim. But when you come back talking about how they denied you, I'll link back to this thread as an expensive reminder.
Good luck.

Software patch for mechanical wear, seems logical.
