New '13 TSX SE 6spd Owner

Well guys, I went ahead and bit the bullet on a new car. I couldn't pass up a CPO 2013 6spd tsx with just 21k miles on it. It feels great to be back with a k-series motor. I don't have many photos, but I am sure most know what a stock Cu2 looks like. I look forward to participating in this community.

Was that the one at Vandergriff?

I looked it up when you first mentioned it and was slightly jealous that it didn't have the front bumper mutilated with a license plate.

A rarity around these parts.

Looks good! Congratulations and welcome.

I find the white to look really good on the lines of the 2G TSX. That's a beaut!

yup, I got it from Vandergriff. I was very pleased to see no holes in the bumper. I live in Louisiana, so a front plate is not required where I live. It was a long drive to Arlington, but I have family that lives in Dallas. Made a trip out of it. I want to buy the sport rear bumper ASAP. Just worried if paint will match up being that the car is 3years old. Thanks for the welcome.

congrats! hmm, on mine, the front plate is bolted on in the lower grill. the drilling in the bumper seems "optional"

starting with the easy and free mods. Didn't like all the badges on the rear of the vehicle. Looks better with just the main emblem. Cleaner IMO.

Yeah, it's not REALLY necessary... But given the chance, guess what the overzealous pre-delivery mangler is going to do...

I'm looking at you MCMiYoung...

Wow the bumper and SE look stands out more in white than my black. Thinking of going white....

Congrats bro and welcome. De-badge was the first mod I did in my car too when I got it. You should do DRL LED next. The OEM yellow one was so annoying.

most stealerships will use two screws and screw the front plates straight into bumpers, saving them selves $38 (price for oem plate mount that uses pre-made holes under the bumper).

When I got my Tsx I told them to not drill into my bumper, stealership said some bs about the law and blah blah, I told him I would sign a waiver, they ended up not drilling into my bumper

When I picked up a 2015 Forester for my wife all the car's in the Subaru parking lot had been drill into. I was pissed that I went to another stealership...same shit, ended up still buying the suv lol 2 plastic bumper plugs at home depot (40 cents, black suv) solve the dilemma.

Went ahead and stripped that ZakTek dealer stuff. Used some IronX, clay, then S100. I will do a full detail this summer to remove swirts, etc etc. But this will suffice for the rest of winter

Awesome! I was in talks with that same dealer to buy the same car but they wouldn't budge on the price much. Do mind if I ask what they ended up on your deal?

I ended up with a black 6mt I found on auto trader that was a trade in to a VW dealer. Mine had the mutilated front bumper. :-(

If I'm not mistaken the one you got was originally a Florida car too from the Carfax I pulled on it. So clean underbody too! Congrats!

Yea it was a Florida car. I don't remebee the number. I got 1200 off asking. I wasnt that pleased with the buying experience. They definitely lied on things and pressured me. I ended up walking out on them the first day. They wanted me to pay asking bc they had "someone else" test driving and interested in buying. Ahwell. I think I got an ok deal. And the car is mint condition. Congrats on yours as well

So bought locally? I had mine shipped. I REALLY wanted a white one for pain maintenance and to avoid Florida summer heat and ended up with black. lol Tints will be the mod when summer starts rolling in.

Again congrats she is def beautiful.

When I take delivery of a car I always make sure no front holes at all
Haven't had any issues ever

Except when we bought our 2016 wrx

They all come pre drilled from factory in Japan with two holes for Japanese plate

So USA dealer drills two more for usdm plate

Mine only has the jdm two holes in bumper sadly

oh wow I just posted in the other thread you started, then found this one. It started off so high with your new gorgeous TSX (mine's the same color - love it), but then saw your accident. Huge bummer man =/ hope you get everything worked out with insurance and your car looking new.

I'm also curious to know where you end up going in Dallas for body work, since I'm looking for a place to do some touch up work.

Definitely not the first time I heard that!

Their service drive is not even remotely close to what you'd expect from a luxury dealer.
Vandergriff has a reputation to live up to from over the years but have been slacking like crazy.

Was the sport bumper prepainted? P/N 08P02-TL2-2G0B?

yes it was prepainted from factory. That P/N sounds correct. Just make sure it is bellanova white pearl and you will be fine. Bought mine from DelRay. I believe it was around 580shipped.
