New '12 TSX (CBP) owner
Hello all!
I'm a proud owner of a 2012 Acura TSX (CBP)... just leased the vehicle a little over a week ago and stumbled upon this website just a few short days ago.
I don't plan on doing many modifications to it as it's a lease not to mention I'm not quite into all that stuff although I do like to look. I plan on picking up the LED kit and tinting the windows.
I previously drove a 2001 Toyota Camry 4cyl that I had since 05. I purchased it was just a tad over 18,000 miles and drove it until now with 99,200 miles... just missed the 100k marker... still have the vehicle as I'm undecided as to what I want to do with it but most likely it'll be sold privately though Craigslist or the like.
A couple of questions for those with 2nd gen's:
1. How many miles are the tires rated for?
2. With moderate driving how long do the brakes last?
3. Is the leather really that cheap or are these forum posts just the unlucky bunch? (cracks, wrinkles etc)
Anything else that I should know? I'm sure I'll think of a few more questions as the days go by...
Here's a photo.. not the greatest but oh well...

Congrats on the purchase. Enjoy your stay and use the search feature.
As far as the leather ive found that it is creasing rather quickly but it will be determined by how well you keep up with it.

1. 40k + no sweat based on reviews from tire rack and anecdotes from driveanaccord.net and other forums
2. quite a decent amount. mine were warped and replaced at 19k but I also have a legendary driving ability that not many car parts can keep up with
3. depends on how often you hit the gym. looks fresh in mine

1. I have a 2012 TSX Tech and also have had a 2009 and 2010 TSX. I lease, and have upgraded from base to premium (canadian version) to the Tech. In regards to your questions:
1. The most mileage I had to date was 20,000 miles on the 09 and had lots of tread left. However, I do swap out winter tires for about 5 months. i think the 40,000+ answer is reasonable.
2. I had lots of brake pad wear left after the 20,000, so I would say 30,000 plus miles.
3. The soft leather on the seats does "pucker" some a, but thats to be expected. Hard vinyl or leatherette would stay firmer, but not nearly as comfortable. Bolsters do get some creasing, as all leather does (read Audi and other forums) but a good cream product (got mine at Acura dealer for good price) does wonders if you use regularly.
It"s a great car, so enjoy and don't worry too much about the folks that nitpick too much. I would be interested in knowing how the LED kit conversion project goes.
Ciao

Thanks mapleloaf...
What is the name of the product you purchased from Acura for your leather and how often do you apply?
If you're interested in the LED conversion here is where I plan on purchasing it:

Do a search in the general forum on Leather Master, a product far superior to the stuff sold by Acura.

Welcome broski. Yes, the leather creases fairly easily but just keep it up and outta the sun - you should be good.

welcome bud, i hate park ave(i leased from ramsey), had them put on a new tire for me under warranty after i got a flat, the tech WHIPPED it around the corner, and guess what i saw when i went to tire pressure before leaving the lot. new tire, 36, other 3, all at 29. im like really dude? takes it back, then whips it around AGAIN after i yelled at him. i swear the tires rolled another inch after he put it in park. never going back there even though its closer to me. feel free to hit me up if you need any help with installs, and we have a meet at menlo park mall on tuesdays at 8PM. check out the ny/nj regional section. me toby killerG apin, and a bunch others that didn't post in here yet are from Jersey. mooar low is from NYC, i did his HID fogs and resonator delete. i can help if ya need

Thanks PyroDave... I'll keep you in mind and I'll also keep an eye out when and if I do take my car to ParkAve to get serviced. I'm thinking 35% on the tints but haven't made up my mind yet.
I'm going to also check out that Leather Master product.. it looks promising.
