Just purchased 2012 Acura TSX special edition :) interior light question?
Hello everyone,
I just purchased a 2012 Acura TSX Special Edition White yesterday and love everything about the car
Red interior lighting looks so cool, but passenger side light is way dimmer than driver side, you can barely tell the red lighting on passenger side. I looked down both sides have one led bulbs but driver sides bulb is way brighter than passenger side. Anyone else noticed it?
BTW White looks sick at night with dark wheels

is that not the lighting of which you speak? and go to the photo gallery, and look at how other people have their cars to see what interests you on yours. idk what your modding intentions are or where you are located. ssjoe has really bright red footwell lighting, maybe ask him how he did his

He doesn't appear to be looking for mods, he just wants to know if it is normal.
On my car, both sides seem to be equally dim but I can't speak for an SE. The OP might want to go back to the dealer and look at the lighting in another SE.

Welcome to the board! Don't you hate the search welcome?
I will have to check on our SE tonight when it gets dark. I thought they were both the same with the drivers side and passenger side. I will double check though!
Plus your right, the white SE looks great at night with the darker wheels!

Well, it's either drilling holes or cutting wires
I like drilling holes in the cover cuz it's the perfect amount of light for me. And also it's a very, very small plastic piece, about the size of my thumb so if I ever need to claim my navigation system broke under warranty, I'm sure that plastic piece won't be too expensive and I can replace it before I bring it it Oh wait a second....):
It's up to you which one you prefer. Also, drilling a hole to let more of a stock light come through probably has less chance of making things go wrong than if you put in new lights...

I wonder if there is a clear replacement lens that does the same a drilling a hole.

So far, I'm the only one who has answered the original question. Why is everyone avoiding a simple answer?

Im pretty anal about symmetry, and i never noticed my interior lights being off-brightness
I dont use them anymore though, they are powering my led ambient lighting, which is like 100x better

So I went to Acura dealership today and noticed all the SE models passenger's footwell light is dimmer than driver side. I'm not worried any more cuz first I thought may be my bulb was bad.
I ordered some red LED bulbs for interior dome lights so excited about that and will post pics once I get them.
Washed and waxed my car this morning and now it's raining x-(

Maybe the driver's side is "pre-drilled"

Yeah I thought so too. When do they footwell lights come on? Just when you open the doors or are they on all the time at night and such? I have only driven the car two times so far lol. I will check the lenses tonight if I can remember.

The footwell lights in my 12 SE only come on when you open the doors. They don't stay on in any head light settings. There is an overhead red LED light next to the homelink buttons that stays on when the head light is on (auto, on, parking).

Just looked! Both look to be the same with the same type lense. Only thing I can think of is that the shiny sport pedals on the SE reflect more light and make the drivers side appear to be brighter. It's just shining down on those blingin pedals!

That actually makes sense and would explain the even dim-ness of the non-SE's
