Exclamation Interior off-gassing???

On Thursday I picked up two 2010 TSXs – one base (mine) and one tech (wifey’s) . Yesterday, after spending some time in each car installing our radar detectors and then picking up/dropping off my wife at an event in her car; I had an intense migraine headache in the back of my head that damn-near made me want to vomit.

I used to have migraines on a daily basis maybe 10 years ago, but really haven’t had one since then for the most part. I’m wondering if driving in the new car with the windows closed for an extended period of time (a little over an hour or so) has had the same effect on anyone else.

I have my car with the windows and sunroof open in the garage currently just in case. Maybe I’m paranoid, or there are some other variables; but I really haven’t changed anything recently in my life that I think could have brought this about.

Has anyone else experienced this, or is it just me?

I love the new car smell. There's really no way of telling if that's what caused your headashes or not.

Some cars and brands are worse than others when it comes to off-gases. It could be the cause, but as you probably know, there are many other triggers for migraines (chocolate, wine/alcohol, change in sleep pattern, etc). I believe I read a few years ago that Honda and/or the TSX had one of the least amounts of off-gases in their vehicles. I can't remember exactly since it was a while ago. Anywho....who knows. Let the cars air out a bit, I guess.

Update: No symptoms since that first extended ride in the car really. I have been making every effort to keep the windows open though; even in light drizzle.

At this point I’m chalking it up to a coincidence; and I’ll continue to enjoy both cars.
