Insurance question.

Hey guys. I got in a fender bender and did a tiny amount of damage to my side door. Once they got the scuffs out it almost looked good as new but when you look closer there is a lot of work that needs to be done. The other person took out insurance so we just figured screw it might as well. But actually, I do not think I was to spend all that time and money on a little ding to repaint the whole car.

I want to get a body kit or something. I was told that I can do whatever I want with the money. The accident was real so I have told the truth. I was just wondering yall's takes!!

peace

do you want a body kit? do you think the body kit will cover the booboo? does the amount given cover the body kit????

and no one in their right mind, especially insurance will repaint the whole car...

why not include pictures of the booboo?

I'm not aware of any kits for the TSX that would cover that up. Some folks don't mind a blemish like that and might leave it as is. My wife did that with her Pilot. Got dinged at the top of a rear wheel arch in a parking garage all the way down to the metal. I keep telling her its worth the $500-$600 out of pocket to fix it but she doesn't seem too concerned. Starting to rust now that its been like that over a year. I cant handle imperfections like that where rust can take hold. Id have to get it fixed ASAP.

And MR WAGON sir, HOW DARE YOU... because wagons look weird!!!!

I have been tempted to not even file a claim because the other party didnt even open a claim yet because the owner was not even driving. So if I can avoid making my insurance go up then I will just avoid this shit all together.

and mr space I was wondering if I could just buy a kit instead because they were tsalking about painting the whole side of the car and that sounded expensive so I was thinking FUCK THAT if insurance is already up and they get 2k-ish for the repairs then i'd rather just spend the check on something else because thats a lot of work for a damn ding.

They'll fix your paint at the cost of two blowies. That's about $250.

Definitely a kurt move, but he'd give 10 blowies for that much. I can proove it!

Sounds from his post as if it was his fault, so insurance is a bad idea if there was no damage to the other car. Perhaps he got too close to an 18 wheeler?

^interesting hypothesis...

it does look like rubber marks and not paint transfer, you can even see giant circular swirls
