Very first big one. I'm guessing the 18 inch wheels makes it more intense.

Actually I went back to the crime scene. The hole was about a 3.5 drop (at 35mph), but the hole had almost a ramp coming out the back side. The entire hole is about two feet long.

No shimmy in the wheel or signs of damage.

You couldn't avoid that deathtrap? I always wondered how potholes even get to that point without being repaired.

Towns with no money. We have some in the town adjacent that look like kiddie pools.

damn! I'm lucky I live in a metro area with people who pay taxes I guess. I'd be so mad if I had to drive in areas that are filled with potholes. Speaking of which, potholes that are filled with rain water are like hidden death traps. they look small from afar and when it's too late, you get sucked in.

^ Bingo. Looks like the paving company could add some coloring ingredient that would show if the top layer wore like two or three inches down.

I swear drivers (and cops) think i'm drunk as I weave the death traps but with the cost of a rim replacement or repair its worth the "evil looks". lol

I went over a similar size pot hot on my 350z a few years back and my strut tower was buckled so be careful

Im with Mkeefe...I dodge all these potholes hahaha and actually have had someone pull next to me at a stoplight and ask me if i was ok....hahahahah

i had 2 bent rims, a blown tire, and i needed an alighnment after last winter in nyc...

I destroyed both right sides on our 04 tsx this past October. I was going 80 on a highway in northern pa and fell into a crater. Luckily the tires didn't blow. Both rims were severely bent and we were 200 miles from home.


I stopped somewhere about 100 miles from home that i knew did decent wheel balancing. I stopped in the hopes that there wasn't much damage, but nothing could be done.

I purchased two reman. from fleabay and all is well. Add two tires and the total was about $700 with an alignment.

Driving around with all the rain we've been having today was interesting. Two things occurred. 1. People that hit potholes freak the @$! out and slam their brakes on. 2. It is hard to spot potholes in the rain and fog.. not fun.

i have stockies and warranty on them(best 500 i ever spent hahaha) so i only had to cover alignment
