Burning Brakes
Ugh...
So, There is a lot going on in here, if someone were to make a kit that would enable others to install these onto their TSX, reasonably, I would throw in on it.
Besides the turbo that is about to go in, I am really looking forward to the motor mounts, and hopefully brakes this year. We'll see I suppose.
But I would like to get the set of brake lamps, and maybe the headlights with the LED's.... everybody has LED's now but mine. But I don't want any tacky type, I like the set that djhtsx has on his avatar...

well to sum up the whole thread
-We found a source for the Spirior Taillights (Ebay AUS for 600-700)
-They fit but require cutting into the harness, or building a connector adapter kit for interchangeable use.
-Kape and I are the only ones so far interested in doing a kit so far
-djhtsx has already installed his by splicing into the harness

No, the list is correct. We DO need male connectors. Unlike djhtsx we do not plan to cut the original connector off and use the new connector. We therefore need the male connector to plug into the harness.
For example, for the turn signal, we need this connector to plug the harness in:
Then we connect the connector above with wires with this connector:
Finally, the connector above gets connected to the LED tail lights. We can't remove the original male connector from the original tail lights to use here because while the harness plugs into it, the other side has a bulb, not wires.
I hope this explains why we need the male connectors - to plug the OEM harness into them.

takes some digging, but i'm sure they can be found
you have to check every honda until you find one that matches
could be part#5 here but I'm not 100% sure

Sorry for the delay guys. I managed to find all the parts at acuraexpressparts.com. Here's what we need:
2 X 04321-SM4-405 - $9.30 / 5pcs
4 X 04320-SP0-S00 - $10.70 / 10pcs
4 X 04323-SP0-A01 - $25.67 / 25pcs
4 X 04320-SP0-G00 - $10.42 / 10pcs
2 X 04321-S2A-305 - $2.52 / 5pcs
------------------------------------------------
2 X 04321-SM4-409 - $5.08 / 5pcs
6 X 04320-SP0-A00 - $10.41 / 10pcs
6 X 04323-SP0-A01 - $25.67 / 25pcs
6 X ??????-???-??? I can't find the pigtails for the part below
2 X 98532-00004-00 - $1.37 / 1pcs - not 100% sure about this one
------------------------------------------------
2 X 04321-ST5-305 - $3.85 / 5pcs
4 X 04320-SP0-G00 - $10.42 / 10pcs
8 X 04323-SP0-A01 - $25.67 / 25pcs
8 X 04320-SJD-A00 - $6.17 / 10pcs
4 X 04321-SJD-305 - $13.51 / 5pcs
04323-SP0-A01 is listed three times but it comes in packs of 25 and we need 18 each. Similarly, 04320-SP0-G00 is listed twice, but it comes in packs of 10 and we need 8 each. The bad news is, it comes to just over $100 for all the parts, plus shipping, and they don't ship to Canada. I don't know if it's worth it.

i can swing $100, is that just for one "adapter kit" we gotta make? or is that bulk, it looks like we'd have enough quantity to do both of our setups with that list

We can still make adapters, just with used parts. Can anyone get these parts from the junkyard?
#298
Everyday I'm rofling
I want them. They are however more than I want to spend.

I guess no one else wanted to do these haha. Well i had a family member go china the past couple weeks so i asked her to pick me up a set of these taillights. They ended up being ~$300 USD (cheap!) and i installed them today.
I put some red vinyl over the 1 reverse light, so it looks more uniform.
To get the lines to light up in the inner lights (below the reverse light), i think i need to make one more connection from the license plate light. Will do that another day..

I would definitely buy some if I could get them for $300!

Wait, you have to remove the back bumper to change the lights? I thought changing the connectors was bad enough. I'm still trying to find some at the junk yard.
I was also thinking of covering the one reverse light with red vinyl, but leave a really thin slit uncovered and use an LED instead of a bulb. That should allow the light beam to go through the slid without turning red yet still covering most of the clear lens with red. That's how the BMWs have it.

Yes i think there are 2 10mm bolts that need to be removed below the tail light before it can come out. I just removed the top part of the bumper and let it hang a little bit. Much easier to put back on afterwards.
Took a video for one of my friends, thought i'd share it here too.

OK, I gave up on trying to find connectors online or at junk yards. But, thanks to oomikeyboy I realized there's a simpler solution. I'll just use these disconnecters:
and
Unlike oomikeyboy I'm not going to cut the OEM connector, I'm still going to try to make adapters but using these disconnectors. Thanks oomikeyboy.

Finally I had some time and the weather cooperated and I got the tail lights on.
Here's a picture of the adaptors I made:
They look like some kid's friendship bracelets or something but they work like a charm. From left to right, the first two are for the turn signals, then the next to are for the breaks, and finally, the one on the right is for the license plate and inner parking lights splitter. I only have one pictured because I realized one side of the splitter has to be three times as long to reach the inner tail light so I cut the second one in order to re-make the two splitters the correct length. The one pictured is the wrong size.
The only thing left to do now is to get some LEDs for the signals and back-up light. The good thing with the adaptor approach is that you spend some time indoor making the adapters but then it's plug and play when you're outside at the car. Also, I can now make two more adaptors for the signals with resistors built in for LED bulbs.

Oh, for the adaptors, you'll need some 22 gauge wire, 4 female .250" insulated quick connects, 14 female .090" insulated quick connects, 14 male .090" quick connects, and a crimper. I found mine at sayal.com. Something like Radio Shack will probably have it too.
