Talking Help with wheels!

I have an 09 tsx and I have been doing countless research on tire sizes and rim sizes, and tbh I'm still confused. I want to get a set of forgestar cf10's 19's. I know an older member ed had the wheels; he ran 235/35/19 19x9.5 all around. (+39 in front +30 in rear).

But I am planning to run 245/35/19 all around with the similar offsets. Would there be stretch? Is this the best tire size to go with in regards to no rubbing and good ride quality? Would 19x9 in the front (245/35/19) and 19x9.5 in the rear (255/30/19) be a better option?

My car is stock and has not been lowered yet but it will be on coils soon after the wheels. Thinking a mild drop like 1.25 all around. I know there a bunch of threads on this but any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I recall from ed's thread, these specs just barely made it for him. Going 245 instead of 235, although doesn't sound like much, will very likely rub if I were to guess.

Check his thread again to be sure. Did he run any spacers? Did he mention rub? Did he mention poke? Also, how low was he? These things you'll need to consider as well when putting a slightly more aggressive approach to his already tried/true combination on your car.

I know he thought about going to 245 but I don't think he ever did. He did say he was rubbing once he lowered but I believe he adjusted the coils to the right height. I think he was lowered ~1.5 inches or 1.7 but I don't plan on going too low. He had a spacer in the front.

the beauty of coils is that you can adjust the height to where you dont rub.

you have a specific height in mind, but what usually happens, is that you make adjustments over time. either to raise or lower, depending on specs of wheels and if you rub or not

I also wouldnt want to run spacers.....
so, I would get square offsets, or all 4 corners the same.

and a 245 will be a stretch on a 9.5inch wheel. depending on profile height

my 9.5inch wheels came with 245/40/18 tires and it has a slight stretch to it.

very true, and I think rolling the fenders should add a decent amount of clearance. I am just afraid of getting the 245 all around and it being a problem even with the coils, especially if I am trying to go with an aggressive rear . Do you guys think I should start out with used tires and play around with them?

yeah I am trying to avoid the stretch. You're right might be better just run 19x9 all around

but you have the option or raising.
so, if you go too aggressive with tires, just raise it up a bit.

its an adjustment that you're going to be forever making.

yes, if you have the option to buy cheaper used tires, go ahead.
its experimentation, as Ed wont have the same exact set up as you, and vice versa

this is why no one can tell you exactly what to do.
you have to play around and figure out what works for you!

lol yeah you're right. I am at the point where I just gotta do it and play with it. My friend suggested I just buy the wheels and start playing with the tires and ride height.

^you do know that in order to keep the speedometer correct, you need to keep the same rolling diameter as stock tires, right?

play around with this online tire calculator

Yeah! a buddy of mine showed me. According to the research that I have done the 245/35/19 is probably the best in compared to my stock 225/50/17

Thanks man! So I am probably gonna go with 19x9. Any suggestions on offset? I'd like for the rear to be concave, or at least more than the front.
