Help needed: Turn navi voice off

I have a tech package TSX and when I connect my ipod through the USB adapter and scroll through the artists/songs, the navi voice speaks and pronounces the artist/song names. Is there a way to turn this feature off, but keep the navi voice on for when the navi gives directions??

I find this annoying as well, but you can't turn the voice on for Navi and off for ipod. It is either on, off, or auto settings. If you hit the setup button, it is the interface dial feedback option. It you turn it off, it is all off. If you set it to Auto, it will speak as long as the car is in drive or a gear, and you use the interface dial to scroll through the song list. If you set it to on, it will always speak when using the dial, even if you are in park/neutral.

Kind of annoying, but not much you can do about it.

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong! I thought so too until I found it.

I have the voice off for the iPod/XM and on for the Navi. Its buried in one of the setup settings, took me a while to find it. Sorry I am inside and can't direct you (even if I was in the car it would take me an hour to find it again!). Drove me crazy, every time I switched around it tried to pronounce sounds and XM channels.

I assure you it can be turned off and the Nav still talks. Try every setting that has to do with "voice feeback" I think it is called.

Paul

(Edit: The NAV will NOT talk when you are programming it, that gets turned off also, which is a good thing. But it WILL talk while navigating. I am guessing that is what you really wanted in the first place?).

If you can find out how you did it, I would really like to know. I played around with it forever and read the owners manual for the car and Navi system, and could only find the description I had in my above post.

I did this using the technique above: got to "Setup" and change "Inteface Dial Feedback" to "OFF".

This may seem like it is turning off Nav speech, but it is only turning off the Nav speech when adjusting not, NOT when navigating.

I have the Nav feedback set to "medium" or whatever the middle one is.

I swear this works for me!!! No voice when ipodding or changing XM stations, and full voice when navigating.
