Do you guys hear this too? Sounds like water boiling/gurgling when I stand behind the car. You definitely hear it if you bend down towards the exhaust.

yes i know what you're talking about. i have the same thing. i didn't know if it was an issue or not. i assumed it was cuz it rained earlier that week but then i noticed that i still had that noise after a couple weeks. i'm still puzzled by it and i have no idea how to figure out what it is and why it's there.

Yeah, I went to the dealer for another issue but I also asked them about this and they said its probably because there is probably water in the exhaust. They wouldn't cover it under warranty so I was thinking of going to another place and having it checked out. But knowing I'm not the only one with this problem gives me some peace of mind lol

Yeah it sounds like condensation. It'll burn off (evaporate) after driving the car for awhile. Short trips that won't let the car get up to operating temp will cause the exhaust to rust out.

Make sure to have your muffler bearings re-greased if there was water in the exhaust. It's very important to keep them lubricated.

Yo yo. I actually have a gurgle or sound of rushing liquid coming from the passenger foot well when i'm at approx. 5500 rpm and higher. I have a 2011 MT.

I've never heard this sound coming from the exhaust. I only hear it when i'm in that rpm range.

I'm taking it to the dealer today and will report back on what they say. Wish me luck

Heater core? Could be air in the coolant system; does the car run hot and/or have you had any coolant system work done lately?

Took the car to the dealer. Went for a test drive with the mechanic and he said he thinks it's just metal rubbing against metal. He said he's confident that there is nothing mechanically wrong with the car. But he doesn't know exactly where the sound is coming from other than the engine bay somewhere.

Now to the question of this thread, the mechanic did not think it had anything to do with exhaust. And I do not hear this sound outside the car. I'm sorry that's not much help for you all.

Unfortunately for me, I'm just over 50k mi which is when the manufacturer's bumper to bumper warranty ends. So I elected to not have them dig around trying to find the issue.
