DIY Cabin Air Filter replacement (*PICS*)
This is a modified version of the 1GEN DIY instructions, with new details for the 2GEN TSX
ACCESSING THE FILTER ( NEW 2009 (2GEN TSX) ACCESS INSTRUCTIONS)
Thanks for FJPthree, we have info and pictures for accessing the 2GEN blower assembly. For 2009, the designers eliminated the need to drop the glove box by installing a trap door at the back of it.
Open the glovebox and remove all your contents.
To access the trap door in back, remove the detachable shelf as per the 2009 TSX Owner's Manual, p. 158. This will expose the rear wall of the glovebox and two tabs are clearly visible on the left and right.
Move these tabs in, and the trap door can be removed. Voila, the pollen filter tray is visible.
REMOVING THE FILTER TRAY
The air filter tray is removed by pushing two release tabs inward, and sliding the tray straight out. It's just like the Honda Accord unit pictured here on Temple of Vtec (you can see the pneumatic arm clearly there, too).
(Image of 1GEN blower assembly exposed behind glovebox.)
The filter drops into the tray, with the filter's "air flow" indicator matching the tray's. On the fore and aft end, the outermost vanes of the filter fit into a retaining slot; if you don't do this, some vanes will be "scrunched."
Re-assemble the glovebox in the reverse order.
For further discussion on filters (brands, quality, availability), check the 1GEN cabin air filter DIY post.

FYI. Further images of the blower assembly ... removing the filter tray, inserting a new filter ... can be found in the 2004 Owners Manual Maintenance section (p. 271).

In my original 1GEN DIY thread (you can find it from the DIY FAQ), I list several makes. Frankly, my favorite is whatever I can get cheaply, so I'll replace it more often.

BTW, I just replaced my ATP HA5 carbon filter with a -> Fram Fresh Breeze CF10134, <- for 2004-2008 TSX and equivalent Accords. Carbon, baking soda, etc. I think that's the same part the 2GEN TSX uses, and it's at a bargain price currently (free shipping).
Other part #s from my service document (where I record parts and work done): Honda 80292-SDA-A01; micronAir MP 180, HN03104P (CombiFilter HN03104C); Purolator C35519; Napa 4815; Bosch P3875.

Using the instructions in this thread, I checked my air filter today and although it wasn't that dirty, it's been in use for over a year so I'm going to change it. For others who are looking for replacement parts, here is a list that I gathered during my research:
Acura/Honda 80292-SDA-A01
Purolator C35519
Wix 24815
Fram CF10134 (OP's choice)
I think I'll go with the Fram as the carbon and baking soda seems better than plain. Thanks again OP!
