Smile Decided to Buy my 12' SE 6MT post lease

After looking at all the new vehicle launches including TLX, I have decided that I will use the buy option in a year when my lease ends. Buy option is $20k, and I will have less than 20k miles on the car. I don't know if I will be able to find a premium manual car, or a better deal at that point. Other than minor scratches car is flawless, and still smells new inside.

Mods so far:

25% tint all around

18" Black Chrome A-Spec Wheels

Next steps:

Weather-tech mats and trunk liner.

Custom mount for a 7" Tablet (any ideas?)

White LEDs?

Here she is all clean in the summer:

Mine is an '09 6MT that's recently paid for and I made a decision to stick with it for a while. At it's price point, especially with the 6MT, it's hard to find a better overall value. I do wish it had keyless entry/start as well as more advanced tech inside but the car itself is hard to fault.

The best thing about buying out your low mileage lease is that you know the original owner.

Cool story, but if you don't have to decide until a year out, why even bother staking your claim now? Decide when your lease is up.

Yeah, you could be dead in a year.

By deciding to keep it I can go ahead and change a couple things. More importantly STOP WANTING/LOOKING at other options. True, I could die tonight but I will die with future plans

I just found out that head unit can be replaced. That has be so excited!

Good call. I purchased mine after the lease ended May 2013. Sure there are other cars out there that I want but not having a car payment on something with low miles, zero mechanical issues, and still under warranty is a first for me.

best part is, you'll never have an 'older body style' TSX

is it usually cheaper to lease and then buy your vehicle at the end of the lease rather than just buying it initially? Or is there no difference?

if you don't have great credit, you can usually get a lease for better interest rate than outright purchase, build up some credit history paying lease on time, when the time comes to buy it out, you have built up some good credit too and can qualify better

Depends. I got the lease for 0 Down, 349 a month for 36 months with 20K buy out. It is almost same as if I bought the car brand, but my payments would have been higher if I didn't put down 10K. Also, my car will be worth more than 20k since it will only have 19K miles on it!
