Dealer charge for oil change?

For those who get their oil changed at the dealer, how much do they charge you? My dealer told me 79.95 for an oil change!

I change it myself...$27 for Pennzoil Ultra 5w-20, $8 for an OEM filter. Done in my spare time in my warm garage.

oil change, aka a1 service is $25-30 depending on the dealer, they all price match coupons though. google elite acura nj service specials and show that coupon to your dealer

for $80 i hope they used synthetic.

it depends on the dealer. tell them you want an oil change with dino, it's $40. tell them you want an A service...that'll be $120, please. semantics. dealer coupons are nice too.

I got a "coupon" the other day from my dealer for $54.95 oil/filter change with tire rotation and some inspections. That's using the regular 5w/20 honda blend.

I prefer to use the $26 Mobil 1 in 5 quart containers and my stash of Acura OEM filters I bought with some dealer money.

My local dealership sends out coupons for $49.95 conventional oil changes, with tire rotation, etc. Sounds like $70+ for synthetic is about right.

Yes, you can DIY for cheaper, but you're also taking the time and effort to do it. I do my own oil changes and maintenance typically, because I like doing it and also have some peace of mind knowing it is done right (so I think, lol), but will pay the dealership to do it if I'm busy or I'm taking the car in for something else. Took the MDX in for some free/recall software updates and had them do an oil change and tranny+ rear diff fluid for $150. Not cheap, but everything took less than an hour and I had to be there anyway. It comes down to what it is worth to you.

Since I have a 2011, they said they only use synthetic oil and that's why it's $80. I've always wanted to learn how to change my own oil, so I'm gonna attempt to do it myself. Mobil 1 0w-20 5 qt is only $25 at Wal-Mart and I got some Mobil 1 filters for $8.

changing the oil is easy.
its just a pain in the ass to put in containers and take em to a place to get disposed of.
much rather just pay someone $15-$20 to do it.

I paid around $75 for a syn oil change at the dealer last month. After paying $250 for oil changes on my previous daily driver, this is cheap to me.

I don't mind it and anyway it's only twice a year at the most. I'd change my own oil but don't forget that time is money, too. If I'm not working, then I'd rather be relaxing and not draining oil on a day off. I'll gladly pay $75 and have somebody else do it.

Or about the cost of a tank of gas makes it a grand bargain if you ask me. Plus wash and coffee and at some dealerships, even baked goods.

If your in the Fort Worth area

Local Dealership Groupon:

$15 for an oil change with a multipoint inspection, tire rotation, car wash, alignment test, and battery check (a $164.90 value)
$25 for two of the above package (a $329.80 value)
$35 for three of the above package (a $494.70 value)
Oil changes include up to 5 quarts of semisynthetic oil and a new filter. The multipoint inspection examines all fluids, brakes, hoses and lines, as well as the gearbox, suspension, exhaust system, and other engine components.

I bought one already a month ago.
