Canadian special edition a spec.

Sitting here at the stealership waiting for my car to be serviced. There is a special edition tsx a spec in piano black in the showroom. It goes for CAN$36,100. It's a six speed/4 cyl and it looks gorgeous. Sticker on windshield says there are only two hundred of these in Canada. In case anyone interested.

It's because we're cool.

I was a detailer at Acura's booth at the Toronto Auto Show and fell in love with that Aspec TSX. Probably the car I would've chose if I was given a choice of any to drive away with.

sat in a black one today. They're going to be offered in white and black, 6mt and atx. The acura.ca site has the details. Honestly, very nice combo, but I'm not ready to spend $40k plus tax (msrp, pdi, etc) on a TSX that's at the end of its model life.

- Exclusive 18" Wheels
- High Performance tires
- A-SPEC badging
- Full body Aero Kit
- Ebony "Lux Suede" interior with red accent stitching.
- Red illuminated gauges and ambient cabin lighting.
- Metal Racing Pedals
- Available in MT and AT
- Only available in two exterior colours: Bellanova White Pearl and Crystal Black Pearl.

$36,195 (6MT) $37,490 (5AT)

That's odd that the AT is more expensive than the MT... Honda has a habit of keeping their AT and MTs the same price.

That is odd. Maybe the manual can make a comeback? Wishful thinking here.

Canadian Apec is the same as US SE model except we have the 18" Delta rims instead of the darken 17" rim in the US.

Acura Canada always charge an extra $1300 for automatic TSX over the manual ones. In the US, there are the same price. We also have to pay $1,000 more for PDI/Freight.

Saw an black ASpec in my dealership. It also has the ebony roof lining to go with the rest of the interior. Although a nice looking car, for almost the same money i am happy to have the Tech package instead for my 2012

^No, they don't. It's the photo angle which makes it appeared dark.

Saw one in person, a white Aspec, and the grille is normal.

Yep. In Canada, the same products are more expensive than in the US. I buy everything I can in the US when i'm there for work or visiting family. Even considered getting my TSX there but it was a hassle for paperwork.. and no warranty in Canada.

In canada Honda charges the same for 6 speeds as it does for autos but otherwise $1200 more for autos over 5 speed manuals. Acuras is different.... On the price front Civics are the exception - low spec Civics are cheaper in Canada. LX models are a few hundred more but include bluetooth, heated mirrors, 60/40 split etc (and there's $1500 off for cash too). It's everything else that costs more. Still, we're a richer country and we can afford it.......

All of these posts caught my attention. Why are things more expensive in Canada when the currency exchange rate b/w both countries (Canada/USA) are only a couple cents apart? And its weird for Acura to charge more the auto vs the manual. Hope they don't start that trend here, but then again they may one day discontinue the manual.

I think it's because the market supports it. Any excuse is good. When the currency exchange was US$1.00 to CA$0.60 a few years back, the price difference was "because of the currency exchange, of course". Now it's one-to-one, so it's due to the "increased cost of doing business in Canada", and other lame excuses from large corporations. Basically Canadians are used to these prices and, as long as they pay it, there is no problem hehe. - Sorry for being slightly off-topic here, so I'll stop...

That and taxes, we get taxed like a mofo.

In short, Canada is a communist country!

Definitely not offtopic. I asked about this.

USA tax a lot here too. I see quite a few similarities b/w both countries. Anywho at least we're not in europe. They pay substantially more for the same cars. Our german manufacturers get away with selling overpriced cars here because our market supports it. This country is all about the flashiness and prestige and many people will lease base model BMWs with halogens etc etc to show "Hey I have a BMW im doing good." Don't get me started on how the housing market imploded. lol

Back to topic though, the TSX A-spec is pretty nice. I wonder IF/OR whenever they decide to do with the TSX/TL/TLX will they bring back the A-spec pkg like the 3G TL or 1G RL.

I dont know brother...Spoke to the Acura ppl at the NY Auto Show yesterday and they said the TSX will be the last car to be re done and they dont forsee anything within the next few years. TSX and TL apparently have last priority on redesign....

One more thing about the Canadian Aspec TSX, those Delta rims comes with 225/45R18 Yokohama Advan Sports tires. Very sticky but low treadwear rating of 180. Had those on my Rage wheel when I bought them from the UK a few years back.
