Talking atlACURAboi's Progress (pics) 11 TSX V6 PWP

I wanted to start this, so I can share my progress on my car over time. If you have questions, feel free to ask me.

I bought the car 9/6/2011 at Jackson Acura in Roswell GA. I got the 2011 Acura TSX V6 PWP/Ebony TECH with 6 miles.

The day the car arrived from PA:

The day I bought the car:

Got the windows tinted 15% all the way around with a 5% front window strip on 9/8/2011. Used LUMAR ceremic high performace tint. Turned out GREAT!

Looks good man. Tint makes a huge difference to any car. The Windsheild strip looks good too.

Thanks! I want to do the interior LEDs and my trunk and tag lights. I am just not sure where to order from & what to order lol. Also would like to do HIDs in my fogs at 5000k and on drl but again clueless on what to order and where to order.

I have some decals ordered to put on as well. I don't think I can do anything to mjot because I did lease the car.

Yea I'm actually in the Acworth/Woodstock area, but close none the less. We just had a small meet at the Taco Mac in Perimeter. Met a couple of guys with some nice TL's. Not to many 2nd gen TSX's though. Welcome to the boards. Here is a link to the Georgia thread, best way to keep up with whats going on in the area.

Hid fogs are nice, you should check out my HID projector retros for the foglights.

Dont do to many decals man, keep it clean! And you can do pretty much whatever on a lease, just keep all your stock parts so you can return it to stock on the return. Someone correct me if I am wrong there.

Again I have your exact same car... no tints... I did that on a Monte Carlo SS back in the '80's and the urge is not there yet.

One thing (although it serves no practical purpose) and I did diss, is the side body molding. It just seem to make the car pop a bit and it is easy to install.

First picture I saw no license plate......then I see the bracket . Wish you left it off. Car looks good though. How does that 5% visor help out? I was thinking of getting the same done and how much did the shop charge for that?

Hey man! Thanks! You know dealerships, they dont listen to anything you say, and when you ask them not to do something, they do it anyways! I know I used to work at one! LOL. When the car arrived, yes it had no front plate. i asked them to leave it off, as well as please not to add the rear sticker logo. Well when i arrived to pick it up, what do you know. It had the front tag on, and the rear logo. I took car of all that this weekend, front tag removed, and logo removed. I will be adding more pics here shortly...

And the 5% visor is awesome! i love it! blocks the sun out of a morning while in traffic! I have always had one on my car. they used the high performance LUMAR tint, so it wont fade! I cost $20 at my local tint shop!

Update: Just hit 8,500 miles on my car. Been on the road!! HAHA

Its getting to be Warmer weather so I will be starting some mods on the car. Pics to come soon.

First thing is going to be the LED conversion. Ordering the kit from EXLEDUSA.com seems to be the be kits I have looked at. I will also be doing the HID conversion on the foglights, and changing out the DLR & high beams.

Got to get ready for an Atlanta meet. Cant be to stock! HAHA

i dont like being seen in at all. haha! my buddy has it done on his truck & tahoe, looks good, and you cant see in for sure!!! Yes i can close the cover, but i like having it open, but makes the tint on my side windows not as dark. i am kinda claustrophobic!

meh i don't think tinting the front windshield is a good idea. yea people can't see in, but you also can't see out as much either. decreased visibility = increased chances of an accident. and i don't know how it is in GA but it's illegal in NY

not only is it illegal in NY/NJ, its also cause for insurance to deny your claim if they want to if you were to get into an accident. Ceb, please, chime in here, i gotta go to class and don't have time for this. if you do stuff like this, please just buy an ILX

I was not talking about blacking out the whole front window- more or less a 50% tint something that is very light. yes it is illegal here in GA, but i have a medical exception that allows me to have my windowds darker then normal and things normal drivers cant have.

I do not like the ILX. I saw it at the car show over the weekend in Atlanta and it looks like a camery with a little class! NO THANKS!!

Although i dont recommend it now, i had my 330's front window 50%
People cant really see in much, but its not dark. And you can still see out at night.
With the front window a shade darker it does make the car feel like your hidden from outside

Thinking back anything could have happened. Moving forward i wouldnt do it.

Your tint levels are lower than what's legal in GA for exempted, and windshield is illegal period(as you stated), soooo your exemption doesn't really do anything for you...lol

who are you hiding from?

The previous owner of my car had the windshield tinted, I had him remove it before I bought the car.

To the OP... what's the last digits of your VIN. Mine is 49... I've hear that only 50 color/combo/engine/techs made it into the world.

its still an idea that is up in the air! I think i might borrow my buddies tahoe for a few days and see how i like it before i pay to have it done. they do have a 100% clear tint that helps block the UV's out so it keeps the inside of the car cooler. may end up doing that instead. you cant even tell its applied.

Yes i know this. the paperwork allows you to be at 20% instead of 32%, but the tint shop doesn't carry a 20% where i went in a nice quality tint, so it was either 15% or 30%. I had the 15% of my G6 for 2 years before i traded it, and before i had the exception paperwork, and i only got pulled over once. it registered at 13% and he said he better not catch me again with it. grated i was coming home from the airport so im not in that area often! LOL

Sweet ride. Congrats on being one the rare V6 tech's. I thought about the V6 tech, but I couldn't justify the extra cost. I was already past what I wanted to spend for a new car =\

I heard that one man! I had the black 08 TL in the pics above, and it was a base. Loved the car and features. I dont like a 4cyl (LEAD FOOT) so thats why I choose the V6, and then i was like I might as well get the TECH package as well. I wanted the ELS sound, and all the loaners I had drove were TECH so i was spoiled to it! And i plan to keep this car a very long time, so might as well get top of the line!

I will only have a V6 had a few 4cyl. in my driving years, and there just isnt enough power in them for my lead foot! Although the 4cyl TSX is peppy, I still wanted the V6 and it to be some what a rare find.

I'm with you on the V6. When I bought my first V6 car, which was a 2000 Honda Accord Coupe, I knew I'd never own another 4 cylinder. Replaced the Accord V6 with an '05 TL, followed by an '07 TL (that I dearly loved), and am now in my '10 TSX V6. The 4 cylinder may handle better than the V6 version of the TSX but I'd take the extra power any day. Once you've tasted it, you're spoiled.

Great, looking car. I really love the 18" V6 wheels, they make the car look so much better. PWP is one of my top 2 favorite colors, the other is Polished Metal Metalic.
