Approaching 15k miles
Hey guys,
I already scheduled an appt. for maintenance this Saturday but was wondering what type of maintenance I will need. My car is currently at 14500 miles with 20% oil life, and my last maintenance was a B1 service.
Anyone have a clue?
I'm assuming it's A1 + Cabin filter?

Why was your last service B1? Your first service at about 7500 miles should have been the A1service.

depending on how hard you drive, you could get a B service before your first A service i believe. also, the dealer will say that you should get a cabin and air filter change, just but them and do it yourself, you'll save alot of money, and it takes 5 minutes each... A service is really just oil change. B service includes rotating tires and closer "inspection" cabin/air filter is every 15K. i have a 30K lease, so the service guy said i should get it changed again when i was only at 26K, i told him no thanks lol

looking over my service records-I get about 25,000+ miles before the code for the cabin and air filter shows up. My dealer tells me to follow the maintenance minder which I do.

War story - my wife loves Civics and she's had one for as long as I can remember. She puts about 35-40k miles on her cars a year and tends to keep them for a long time. She services them regularly and only at the dealer. She had one dealer that she really liked and would always take her car there every 3k miles (before the maintenance minder.) We then got her an 09 that had the maintenance minder and her dealer called her about a month in (at 3k miles) and told her that she needed a service. Since she was near a different dealer, she stopped there and was told (of course) that she still had 70% oil life and a change wasn't due for a long time.
She called the origan dealer and was told that the other dealer was really wrong and that they recommend 3k oil changes because it is better for the car. With that, she politely asked for the manager and proceeded to tell him why they had lost a customer. The other dealership has now had her as a customer and we just traded in her '09 for a 2012 - just because she wanted a 4 door instead of a coupe. The '09 had 163k miles on it and had not had any problems.
Dealers prey on the fear of the uneducated customer. Remember that a dealer makes much more money on service than on sales, so every upsell is free money for them.

I spent a lot, I meant A LOT of time dealing with the cabin filter.
a. 30" to clean out the glove box
b. 30" to eye inspect the shelf and those hooks
c. 1' to completely pull and remove the shelf
d. 30" to completely remove the cabin filter
e. 10' to put back the new cabin filter in AND including roughly 9'30" in the restroom LOL
f. 1' to pop everything in except the shelf
d. Here's the itchy part, 1 month try to put the shelf back in like it never been removed.
Just couldn't and can't do it. Off the 3 hooks, I was only able to get one (the far-right) back in, the middle one and the left one are still not inserted properly.
I've tried to line up correctly, and push it in really hard to the point that I can feel the cabin plastic cover was push back but still ............. can't.
