All tsx have bad window regulator??

ISSUE-when I press driver side window auto up, it goes all the way up and comes down to where it was before.

If the window is FULLY down, and I press auto up, it goes up all the way no issues.

I read the owners manual. I took it to dealer and service writer ordered me new window regulator.

FIX-dealer installed new window regulator today driver side.

CONTINUING SAME ISSUE: however he just called me and said they have 3 other TSX in the shop, and they all do this. This is a "design defect" with ACURA TSX.

Is this true or is the dealer playing games?

Haven't heard of that problem before from anyone on here. Doesn't happen with mine.

Maybe someone will chime in if it's happened to them before.

Appreciate it.

Dealer said they did the window regulator on two other TSX, but it didn't fix the problem. Cant figure out what else could it be?

Could it be the switch?

But why would they install the window regulator and then lie to me? You think I need to try another dealer?

They did the garnish around the windshield
Rear nozzle is fixed
New steering wheel (feels more like the ILX loaner than the smooth TSX previus steering wheel. Could be cuz its new)
Brake resurfaced free-since it was CPO
Parking brake adjusted
Rear new speaker installed.

They did all with no issues. So was surprised about the window.

Don't the windows do something wonky and then it requires you do a couple of cycles pressing/pulling the switch through the whole range of motion?

I seem to recall something like that. Window was acting up and the fix is to pull and hold (in the auto-up detent area) the switch so it goes all the way up then push and hold (in the auto-down detent area) the switch so it goes all the way down.

After that it's all good until it acts up again. They you repeat the up/down and it's all gravy again for a while.

Or am I just making that up?

I initially searched the forum, and read about the reset. Exactly as you described. Reset didn't help

Which is when I took to dealer. Service advisor said they fixed 3-4 TSX that needed regulator and hes been seeing it recently and ordered me up.

When I got it fixed, DIFF service advisor said they fixed it, but this is a design flaw (don't believe it) and other TSX in service bay doing the same thing.

It isn't the end of the world, but annoying if I have the window half way down, press AUTO UP, and it doesn't go up, goes up and falls right back down.

I had something similar happen to me this morning. I pulled all the way up on the drivers window and it just went straight down. I ended up just holding it up in the up position until the window was up and it didn't go back down luckily. I should also mention that it was -25C this morning, so I'm hoping the cold just has something sticking.

Yup exact thing as my car. If I hold it up, it always works fine, thereby defeating the auto up.

Lowest my car has seen here is about 65 degrees. Its 79 degrees today

Usually, yes Though when I lived in Boston for 4 years, we used to go up to Montreal all the time in the winter. It was fun, but nice to have no snow, all clean cars, wearing shorts for X mas.

Look at the bright side, you don't have to lower your windows in sub 0 tempteratures

This is not a design flaw not is it a "common" problem.

Honda/Acura window regulators do fail - possibly more than the industry average - but not with those symptoms.

Yeah I didn't think its a design flaw. Owned Honda/Acura products since the 80s, never had that issue. Then again, never had a Honda product prior that had auto up either.

FIgured dealer blowing smoke.

You would think they would escalate to regional manager of Acura if the problem is persistent as they are saying.

I've had the same issue for about a year...finally took it to dealer last week to be fixed under warranty.
Service Advisor said that the channels sometimes get gunked up with dirt and they replaced that.
Lo & behold, the problem is still there. I'm calling today to let them know it seems like the window regulator might be the culprit.

In case it matters, I've got a 2012 TSX SW w/35k.

I will change my previous answer. Mine does it. It's pretty rare for me to only roll down the window half way down so I had never noticed it before. Doesn't really bother me though.

I noticed it however, I also watched how long I held the button that is the key for me. I can make it malfunction and I can make it operate correctly.

2010 TSX Sedan 75K on the odometer, live in Jersey so we have temperature extremes, never had this problem, but the drivers side window is painfully slow to go up when it's below 20F.

Update

Took car on a 3100 mile roadtrip south of the border. AFter getting back, car went to dealer on Monday.

Drivers side window was REALLY acting up on the trip. Same symtoms. ALl the reset didnt' help.

So they replaced another window regulator.

Got the car back, no issues with windows last two days (crosses fingers)

God my warranty is getting milked on this car!

I saw this for the first time last week on my 2012 TSX Wagon. My wife leaves the window half way down and shuts off the engine. We park in a garage so the temps rarely fall below freezing, so I'm not sure temperature is playing a role. It looks like wonky software to me.

Turning off the car with the windows all the way up or all they way down seems to clear the problem for now.

Mine certainly isn't due to temp. Car is in Los Angeles. Garaged at office and at home.

THe last issue happened on a trip to Mexico (was warmer than Los Angeles).

Hopefully 2nd time is a charm.

As mentioned above, I had the channels cleaned/cleared by the dealer, that didn't fix the problem. They replaced the window regulator in December and that worked...
...for 6 weeks.

Window is doing it again. Never happens when window is fully down, but happens 75% of the time when window is partially down.
Not a huge problem, but definitely annoying especially since my garage at work is keycard access so I deal with this almost daily.

8K miles left until my warranty runs out, and I'm going to have to do this again.

Mine is still doing ok, but after 3K$ worth of warranty repairs in 6 months, I am waiting for them to fail again.

Good thing my bumper to bumper warranty is for a few more years and I have the nicest/easiest dealer in the world

I may have an issue with my driver's window. Had a weird occurrence ONCE but not since. I'll have to keep track if it does it again.

But, last week, I did have the regulator for the rear passenger (behind driver) window replaced. If I rolled the window down about 1/3 way, sometimes it wouldn't roll back up. My dealer didn't have the part in stock. Ordered and shipped for next day... box was labeled correctly, but the part inside was for opposite side door. Part ordered again. Next day, box arrives; again, box labeled correctly, part inside was for opposite door. Third time's a charm. So, my rear window is fixed.

But I will keep in mind any (more) weirdness in my driver's window.

What was up with your Rear Wiper Nozzle? Mine kind of dribbles. I bought the car used, so I don't know what how it's supposed to function.
