With our aging cars, what's something you've done/added to wean off your interest in getting a different car?

- I dip'd the interior silver trim pieces around the dash red to make it look different

- Played with a new oil brand (Eneos) and brake fluid (ATE Type 200).

Try lowering it.

Edit: Well just saw a couple posts back you claimed to have "shitty roads". Do it anyway. Im sure you'll notice the difference there far more than playing with new oil and brake fluids.

Neither of you are lowered. Lower that shit!! Totally changes the feel when the center mass is lower.

Get some light weight wheels. Shaving off unsprung weight is a sure fire way to change the driving characteristics of a car for the better.

Hell, if thats not good enough then SUPERCHARGE IT like you said.

well, nothing... i know i will be keeping the car when I am finished with the payment... i don't want to have any trouble if i mess up...

but then, I will be leasing a car afterward so i will let my TSX be stock.. maybe selling it in 7th year perhaps?

Nothing I've done to the TSX, but I started to teach my daughter to drive in our Mazda 5 minivan with MT, which she promptly destroyed in truly bizarre fashion. We have to replace the Mazda, which has killed my interest in spending more $$$ to replace the TSX, even though I was getting the new car itch in a major way. I don't recommend this approach, mind you, but it works!

I am thinking about some coil-overs, or maybe new speakers.

I keep a wild skunk in my car. That thing has really excited all of my senses. Only downside is that no one wants to be in the same room with me anymore and I may or may not have rabies.

There are supercharger kits for our car, but really not advised.

check out the performance thread, some have already done it for their 09-10's

Nothing done to the car, but....

In case you are approaching Old Farthood like me, I occasionally have a blast by stashing a strong dark coffee in the holder, rolling down the driver's window to let the wind blow thru my thinning hair, cranking up something vintage like good Grand Funk Railroad, then sailing down the highway changing lanes all the way....

Cheap Thrills......

A good wash and detail will make the car look like new again. It will also be faster and get better gas mileage.

Cleaning up the interior by removing all the crap that has accumulated along the years and giving the inside a good scrub (including the trunk and engine bay) goes a long way too.

Using either LeatherMasters or Leatherique on your seats transforms them to looking good again while fixing or replacing anything that is worn, broken or otherwise damaged will also help.

All that goes towards making your "old" car seem new again.

I stopped washing the car so much after having to park outside at my new job. There's road construction at every corner so it's always covered in a layer of dust.

I slapped on a couple layers of Klasse in the spring, and add on wax whenever I get around to washing it, usually 1/mo. There's usually enough layered on by the end of summer/fall that I can go thru 4-5 mo's of winter and not worry about it again until next spring.

I just try to keep her clean, both inside and out. I use Collinite 845 in the summer and 476 for the winter. Lasts a little longer than the 845 in the craptastic NY winters, FWIW.

It's far from a new car, with over 133K on the clock now, but still running and driving well. Still haven't gotten bored with the 6MT.

Probably need new tires next spring, but they will still be good for the few more months I'll be driving it before the snows go back on...ugh. Definitely not looking forward to that shit.

These cars differ in performance depending on the color you have.

My parents went to India for a week so I've been driving the TSX for the last week and every time I drive it I redline it. The performance is good and MPG is still great compared to my '91 mercedes 300e which their both stock but the 300E gets like 16mpg city with me driving like an old man. Still wish I had the V6 TSX!

Nah... CBP is black, therefore is the worst at reflecting light and thus, heat, causing more heat soak. Therefore, BWP is the best performing paint.

The VSA button.

I honestly drive with it on for the most part, but yesterday made two trips with it off and pushed the car a bit. Definitely felt much better in terms of power.
