2G TSX Buying Advice
I wanted to start off by saying that I'm a long time lurker on these forums, but a first time poster. Apologies in advance for the long-winded post. I've always been a huge fan of Acura vehicles and currently drive a super clean 2005 TSX. My 1G TSX has treated me very well over the years, but I recently got bit by the "upgrade" bug. While it will definitely be difficult to let go of my trusty 1G, I'd like to pick up a 2G TSX to follow it up. I've done quite a bit of research and have a good feeling of the vehicle I want to go with, but I wanted to ask the community for their advice. Here is what I'm working with:
- 2013 TSX SE, black, asking $15,996
- 50,461 miles
- 2012 TSX SE, silver, asking $14,993
- 50,981 miles
- 2013 TSX Base, charcoal, asking $14,795
- 47,475 miles
- 2011 TSX Base, black, asking $15,992
- 38,906 miles

the older car with lower miles sounds intriguing, but it could also been treated like crap. you wont know until you drive it.
same goes for the higher mileage cars.. could be a diamond in the rough, you just dont know until you drive it

if you have't considered the 2g v6 tsx, I highly recommend it. They are pretty rare to find but i would recommend test driving one if you can find one to compare.
Best of luck with the search.

The TSX base and TSX SE are different in appearance wise and will drive similar, given the condition of each TSX. If you rather have the appearance factor then the SE will make do for you. As for my buying experience, I was digging the lip kit and the black headliner and didn't like the red gauge and the red stitch seats. Good luck!

All that extra metal and interior panels equals to $3000

not THAT simple. you have to go and inspect EACH vehicle. since they are used cars, you DO NOT KNOW in what condition these vehicles are.

Just wanted to thank everyone for the advice! After test driving them all, decided to go with the 2013 TSX SE. Excellent condition and super clean .I've already got lots of mods in mind, too.
Really going to miss the "Gray Ghost", but excited to spend a few years with the "Black Beast"

Thanks! Overall, the paint is in great shape - no major dings or scratches! But, being that it's black, you can definitely see a few swirls and super tiny little surface scratches in the clear coat in various areas. It's going to be garaged, so it'll be out of the elements most of the time.
Before too long, I'm going to clean it up completely and have a good quality wax job applied. We'll see where that gets me.

Let us know about your wax setup of choice and if you do it yourself or have it done pro.
Since we are on topic, how is the driver seat, specifically the upper and lower wing closest to the drivers door? I have to put a lot of weight on mine and am noticing wear is starting to show. Also, how is the Acura logo on the steering wheel? Mine is starting to show wear. I think the PO may have been dragging a purse/bag pack across it when entering/exiting the vehicle.
Are there any vibrations when driving? Specifically in the gas pedal and steering wheel at higher RPMs. I dont mean major vibration, just slight sensations or is it solid/vibration free?
Lets get some more pics!

Thinking mechanically, my new TSX was in pristine condition. It drives like new - smooth engine and transmission, and quiet from the standpoint of road noise like it was from the factory. The dealer even let me take it home overnight to get a "real" test drive in. We all know that "newer doesn't always mean better", but in this case I did my research and wanted to go with a 2012+ to get past some of the teething problems that earlier 2G TSXs had (oil burn issues, pinging transmission noise, etc).
I'm getting ready to do a proper conversion to interior/exterior LEDs tonight , so I'll post pictures once that's done. Here are a few to get by until then:

Very nice and congrats on the purchase. Time to create a build thread!
