Hello,

Has anyone else experienced this? It only does it on cold days... When I recorded this video the key was out of the ignition... I am wondering if it could be the audio system hard drive? It is definitely coming from behind the radio.

It lasts for approx 5 mins or less and then stops. You can hear it finish at the end of the video.

Well if that is your harddrive expect failure any day. More likely it's a vent opening or closing, but it doesn't look like the heater is on.

Then it probably is the vents as they close when you turn the car off.

Happened again this am. -8 outside

unlock car, open the door get in and close it. Buzzing Starts immediately with no key in.

Im starting to wonder if it could be related to my headlights?

No one else ever experience this?

It rarely gets to -8 (or plus 8 for that matter) in my corner of the world. If it did, my teeth would be chattering so hard I wouldn't hear that.


Since headlights do turn on when you unlock the car, I suppose that might be a logical place to jump to. Does the noise change when your lights go out.

Alternative test: don't unlock the car with the remote, but use the key, so you can immediately open the door.

Or leave the car unlocked and check it.

Do the lights come on with unlock only when the switch is left in auto? Never tried before, another way to get around it.

Leaving someone in the car overnight (is probably not recommended) so they can hear it first thing in the morning before you unlock.

Interesting segue, maybe its something in the power door locks? Is something moving slow, sticking, straining a controller in the dash?
