What is with this piece of f---ing s--- f---ing Bluetooth thing?!?!?!
Is anyone else's bluetooth a raging piece of steamy donkey shit in this car? I've had issues with my Droid RAZR, iPhone 4, and now iPhone 5c. The current failure mode is that the microphone has some flaw where occasionally (before)/frequently (now) it just transmits a series of loud squeals and screeches instead of voice. I can tell it's going to do it because I hit the button to give a voice command and it can't understand me and as I'm saying "call 123-45-" it will cut in and say something else, because all it hears is squeals and crap. It does it almost 100% of the time when it's cold, and occasionally just out of the blue. Almost seems like a loose connection or something?
And I'm 100% sure that if I bring it in to the dealer, it will A) fail to do it, or B) they will want me to leave my car and my phone there all day and then they'll "fail to reproduce the problem" just like they did 2-3 times before when I had issues before someone on here finally dug up a TSB and they grudgingly replaced the BT unit.
My home state has a new hands-free law, and I have to be on a lot of conference calls for work; I f---ing NEED the stupid BT to work. I'm about to drop it off at Acura and tell them to either f---ing fix it or I'll burn it to the ground in their parking lot. Cars have had f----ing bluetooth for like 15 years at this point, GET IT F----ing RIGHT, ACURA. They've basically run the RDX off my list of prospective crossovers for my wife because I'm sick of dealing with this BS issue.
tl;dr: yes, I mad bro.

I don't WANT that, I bought a thirty-fcking-thousand dollar car with built in bluetooth for a reason. If I wanted to wear a faggoty-ass headset I could've kept my 1998 Honda Civic.

Might I recommend anger management classes.
If your car does this regularly and you can reproduce it, then drive by the dealer and establish a time when you can show the problem to the tech or SA.
While the functionality isn't that great, the sound quality on my is satisfactory and I use it for conference calls all the time.

i spend hours using mine for the same thing conference calls.
droid razr now ultra. I have neve had an issue.
early in my ownership i took the lower dash off on pass side and a module just fell out. it was some part of the system. i used some two sided tape to get it back in . IIRC it was either the HFL or BT box.
maybe yours is loose down under there. getting kicked around/

Anyways just keep bugging the dealer over and over every week. That's how i got them to replace my VTC actuator free of charge after they insisted they couldn't reproduce it.

Sadly, the dealer isn't really near my office or house and I don't have much time. I'm at ~47.5k miles, I might give the monkies one more shot.

Some exceptions in his state:
"Wearing headset receivers is not permitted while driving. Exempts intercom helmets on motorcycles, cellular phone earpieces, and single-sided headsets."

This is the number we give to people at our dealership if it can be fixed they are the people to talk to, good luck
Since the introduction of HandsFreeLink (HFL), Johnson Controls, Inc. (JCI) has been our sole supplier of
HFL control units and has provided call center support at 888-528-7876.
With the expansion this year of our HFL suppliers, call center support is now being provided by our
technology support staff at the Chino Support Center. The phone number to reach them remains the same,
888-528-7876.

My suggestion would be to call the dealership several times, leaving voice mails on their machine when they are closed, then as soon as they open, call them and ask if they had any voice mails that were completely garbled. And then say, yeah, this is my HFL. FIX IT.

It sounds like this issue is definitely specific to the OP's car. I've had a Blackberry and now a Droid RAZR Maxx hooked up to my 2011 TSX with no issues. My 2009 didn't have any issues either. That's got to go to the dealer to be fixed - if you can get it to do it while there. I really hate it when a recurring problem never manifests itself at the dealer. I always thought it was just me that happens to!

HFL is a frequent problem in these cars. Just had mine replaced by Acura on my 06 TL after I went to customer care division. Could have done it myself for same price but wanted the 1 year warranty. HF now works fine. Would have been no big deal to replace. Easy peazy.

I have a 2012 TSX SE bought new, I had the same problem the first year and a half as you are having, the squeals, was told I sounded like a train , etc, first time I took it to dealership they told me it was because i had an old fashion flip phone. I switched out to an iPhone 5s three months ago, still had the problem, took it in, they discovered the problem is microphone defect and replaced the car bluetooth microphone and have since had no problem with using my bluetooth.

Dealer has the car today. I called the service manager Friday night, and when I made the call I did it via the BT that was screaming like a jet engine. He was properly confused/concerned. Hopefully there will be a fix today.
On the plus side, they put me in a pimpin' black '14 MDX SH-AWD, so I have that going for me.

Welp, just as predicted, "can't reproduce the problem". It's a virtual guarantee it will do it to me tonight when I go pick the car up (fingers crossed) so maybe they'll keep it and fix it.
Otherwise, get the lighter fluid out.
I am getting a new battery under warranty, apparently it was failing the battery test? Car is only ~2 years old, seems odd, but whatever, I win. And filters and wipers. Oh joy.

Have had 4 Acuras with BT, 3 TLs and 1 TSX. Never had an issue with any of them. Hope you get your problem resolved. I rely heavily on BT and would be quite irate if it didn't work properly.
