where to buy genuine philips bulbs
I want to purchase the 85126+ D2R for my TL and need to know a trustworthy website with a good price. i have seen plenty of sites asking for $100+ a bulb, but thats too much for a bulb in my opinion. any suggestions?

'08 MX5 GT 6spd.
If you want to spend less than that, Philips is not for you.
They are the best. Period.
My advice...save the dough, purchase the Philips and never look back.
I've got TSX-R lenses, 55w Morimoto ballasts and the 85122+ in my MX5...6 lanes of daylight.

both my rdx and bimmer have factory projectors and light output is not that different from my TL with hid reflectors. It is obviously wider and offer much sharper cutoff but my TL was still pretty bright and had a nice cutoff. unfortunately my oem Osrams died and now the dealer is asking for $214 a bulb. I don't want to swap in aftermarket d2r as they are dim and don't have the crisp cutoff (i tried them before).

gabru: www.hidextra.com can hook you up with a HID kit for both fogs, get real light from them not plain ol halogen/zenon gas bulbs--HID high Intensity Discharge- the name alone should sell the project!!
get 5000K bulbs for it, and get a set for the lows to match
stock lows is an HID setup with 4300K bulbs
google kelvin color scale if more info needed
Note: eventually you will have water related ballast failure problems,
get 1 entire kit for both sides of low beams from seller listed above and you will thank me later
note they have coupons online if you search

ok so i got them philips 85126 today and i replaced the chinese 4300k D2Rs with them. The difference is amazing. it's something like 25-30% brighter and the cutoff is brilliant. here are some pics.
Philips 85126 D2R
Made In Germany
4300k OEM Colour
First a comparison, the left passenger side is philips 85126 while the right driver side bulb is chinese made ones. They are both 4300k but it seems the philips burns whiter.
Here is the philips and 9006 hid 6000k fogs on my green garage door, improved cutoff:
Dark street:
parking light with yellow street lights:
In addition to improved brightness, range and cutoff, I noticed the headlights don't get as hot as it used to with the generic bulbs. So they run cooler than cheaper bulbs. Compared to OEM Osram bulbs they are whiter and brighter. overall i am very satisifed with these bulbs. for 40$ a piece you can't go wrong. Also note that the fog lights appear less blue to the eye than portrayed in the images, so it's not as much of a mismatch.
