What fluid should I use for my upcoming transmission fluid change

In the next month or so I plan on having my transmission fluid changed.
I'm deciding on what fluid to go with.
I've noticed a slight shudder between 1st and 2nd gear, but that only occurs on one road immediately after going over a speed bump - i think it has to do with the motor mounts being shot as this does not occur when shifting on hills or other roads.

The car is at 50000miles or 80500km.

I've read that Redline or AMSoil make good ATF's.
Should i consider switching to one of them or stick to the Honda ATF.

Additionally, ive always wondered why its "bad" to let off the throttle when shifting in SS (ex driving "like" a manual). I understand that the ecu expects that the throttle should be constant between shifts - but why? (The gen3+ ecu cuts throttle power between shifts)
->When exactly does the most clutch wear occur, ive been trying to find this out... ex: shifting (that little amount of slip before engage to make it smooth), engine breaking, accelerating in gear (im trying to learn the operation of auto transmissions)

^^ Can't go wrong with Honda DW-1 or Z1. Switching to Redline Type F is also safe, and can be a nice change. Both brands have been tried and tested. I can't speak for Amsoil though, as I haven't read too many reviews of it.

amsoil is basically another quality full-synthetic ATF.
it however retains more "traditional" atf qualities - when compared to redlines type f (something designed for racing use) the amsoil product is more of a "better quality" ATF-Z1 per say (higher max temp, etc.).

if using redline I would mix the racing and street atf so you keep some of the slippery modifiers

most of the severe clutch disc wear occurs at high rpm downshifts

you dont let off the gas because you dont need too- pressure switches are involved so you need the rpm to push fluid
dont care about gen3 they are different trans programming
the way the clutches hook up can be found on wiki- ck there and study vtec too

uhhhh how did you do a 3x3 with only 3 qts of fluid?

a 3x3 is 3 qts...3 times,,actually its 3- 3.4 qts 4 times,,12 qts total,,,so the entire 7.4 is washed out

I think he used Redline Racing ATF (2qts.) and Lightweight Racing ATF (1qt.) for each drain/fill.

reminder to measure carefully the amount drained
it varies between 3 and 3.4 qts atf

refilling to less than correct level is asking for trouble

I will say Depends on wich Tranny are you Using.

If Original: Nothing will Prevent the Inevitable (Dont Bother on Expensive Stuff)
If Blue Bolts + Jet Kit: DW-1 or AMSOIL / Redline Type F
If Newer Design (After 05): I would Invest on Redline Type F ONLY.

Thats my 2 Cents.
