Weird white powder accumulation by firewall: anyone see this?
 

No, it’s not what you think and I didn’t just get a drug dealers car. It looks like massive corrosion from a battery outgassing, or some type of other corrosion but it’s in the weirdest spot ever. It’s too far from the battery to be battery corrosion the best I can tell, and the position makes it unlikely to be from the brake master cylinder, and I’ve never seen brake fluid do this, it just eats paint like crazy. Going to jet wash it off and make sure it hasn’t f’d with any electrical connections at all. Just curious if anyone has seen this in this location before.

Maybe previous owner tried putting baking soda in his front vents as a way of "deodorizing" prior to selling :dunno:

Hahah, that's a GREAT idea! I'm leaning more towards just washing it off. Not too worried, but its weird enough I thought I'd ask the gurus here if it's been seen before. I guess I just have a mystery then... :P

I'd just wash it out.

And buy new lift struts. :)

i'd be just as baffled as you were if i saw that!!

OR: could be drugs that were left behind in the car after it was impounded and later sold because the real owner of the car didn't show up to get it because he was too busy being dead from losing the car (drugs) in the first place. :toocool:
