I'm thinking of replacing my 2003 Acura TL 3.2L transmission solenoid instead of just cleaning it. Based on the OEM prices I'm thinking of going with an aftermarket transmission solenoid.My question is, has anyone have any experience with using an aftermarket transmission solenoid?

1) One way to beat Acura 'OEM prices' is to try and cross reference the Acura part# to see if it has a Honda equivalent. Then purchase it from a Honda dealer. You may find they (Honda) have the same part for a mark down over the Acura dealer price.
2) If you can find out who the manufacturer of said part is, you may be able to search online for that part, through an aftermarket company/distributor, and find the manufacturer part for less than either Acura or Honda.
3) Or purchase the aftermarket transmission solenoid and roll with it. In the mean time, clean the OEM one you removed and keep it in reserve should the aftermarket one fail prematurely.

I replaced my solenoid with an aftermarket one from ebay for $60. I have no problems with it.
