Transmission Slip

Can someone tell me how does a TRANSMISSION SLIPPAGE feels like? I've read many other threads and many people talk about it being associated with HIGH REVings. However, in my TL-S, its just really jerky. When I stop at a stop sign and then make a right turn, the car SHAKES, like 2 violent jerks but the car never revs high. IS MY TRANNY IS DYING? I have a salvage titled too....TnX guys.

could be. The first time my tranny was slipping, it wouldn't rev high; the whole car would get jerky before shifting, mainly from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th.

But yes, high reving (aka ur car reving really high as opposed to smoothly shifting) is also a sign of tranny failure.

when we talk about the tranny slipping and the engine reving we arent talking about the tach swinging up to redline. when we say tranny slipping its like a slipping clutch (which is what it is) when holding a constant pressure on the gas pedal while accelerating as it shifts thru the gears between the gear chif, instead of being smooth and quick, the rpms will slide uppwards before it goes into gear. my 3 that died the tach would rise about 1200 rpm before dropping down and into gear
