Transmission Problem - Vibrating/ Flutter while switching 1st to 2nd..

my transmission flutters while switching from 1st to 2nd. and it gets a little more worse while the A/C is on.

i actually had it replaced by acura for a recall years back. but right now im kind worried that it might get worse.

will a flush fix the problem? Ive never had one done to it since it was installed and that was at 88,000, im at 163,000 now.

HELPP!!!

im not to sure. when i got the transmission replaced by acura, they replaced all my transmission mounts, but not engine mounts.

i mean, i do feel the flutter on my steering wheel. was that a sympton for you also?

It's easy to check the front mount. Pop the hood and it's literally right there just look straight down. If u see oil or any sign there was leakage like road dirt and grime collected on a pool of old fluid that means the mount is gone. Most likely the side one will have gone too. They are quite a problem going usually in 50k miles or less. Take a look and let us know what you see.

ok ill check that out...ALSO, i checked the rpm's and they didnt jump. so would that rule the transmission out as a problem?

I wouldn't be in a rush to rule out problems unless you have lots of experience.
However, my engine was bouncing up and down in 1-->2 and 2-->1.
I did a bunch of sport shifting to confirm it was not the transmission.
You are right on mark to doing three 3 quart drain/fill [3x3]

And do it every 30k hereafter.

did acura replace the trans when it went in for the recall PART to be installed?
if certain heat damage was found they replaced trans,,but that was very few cars
Blue paint on the bolt heads of trans main bolts- of things attached to trans = warranty unit

otherwise you got the oil jet kit installed and sent on your way

if you have 88 on it, a change to SOME new acura dw-1 fluid may help
if 160,,,dont think thats a good plan
DO drain 4 oz of atf and send to blackstone labs.com
they mass spectrograph it and can tell if fluid is dead, full of clutch particles or whats happening inside the trans for wear- normal and otherwise to metal parts
the best 25 bucks you can spend right now!

clutch testing requires multiple 25 and 35 mph (speeds vary by year/type)
light throttle D5 cruising and stand on it-- till it downshifts to 2nd and launches forward -shifting smoothly by itself thru the gears near redline with your foot buried

after 10-15 of those if the clutches are bad,, it will be slipping

odd to have broken trans mounts--acura replaced them? with the trans??

usually the front starts it,,failing around 60-70kmiles and goes unnoticed for months or years
During that time the passenger side takes extra load, and the engine and trans- driveshafts etc. all are moving around banging and stressing other parts
Instead of being in a solid place~
eventually breaking the rear eng and trans mounts

get under the front of car and look up at front mount for traces of oil drips-drops-dust attached to it
look on driveway-- just behind radiator for drops..thats how mine was first discovered.
Perform 2 man static test with car in gear-brakes on - rev engine to 2000-2500 and let off- repeat, watching for motion

have wheels blocked and NEVER stand in front of the car!
disgruntled spouse may see this as ~the perfect accident~

if in doubt have a shop look at them
fronts retail price is 150$!! its fluid filled and vac boosted
we have trick cars!

Don't do a flush, but do the 3X3 change-out of fluid. Go with a quality full synthetic like Amsoil or Mobile. Don't wait or the slipping might get worse.
