Transmission failures after oil jet kit installed?
Has anyone experienced a transmission failure in a 2G TL *after* the oil jet kit had been installed (i.e. the official recall fix)?

The Oil Jet doesnt fix the tranny problem that causes ours to fail. Its for an entirely different problem. So to answer your question, Yes they fail after the jet kit. The jet kit is for a worse problem that rarely happens

it is very possible since the oiljet only fixed the 2nd gear lubrication overheat problem.....whlie most failures tend to be caused by the 3rd gear clutch pack

your not going to like the answer, because really there is no fix or preventon.......really you just got to be lucky.......if your car falls in the 100k vin warranty then you should not have to worry(unless your pass that).Plus the failures I think have only been found in 10% of the TL's.

I hear ya but,....I wonder if the jet causes a disturbance in the way ATF is curculated
and perhaps starve another region of the tranny. Doesn't sound likely but,...
I know my own experience was that the tranny began slipping within a week of
having the jet kit installed and failed within a few weeks after that.
On the other hand it was near the statistical 50k average failure mileage.
Can't wait to hear/see how your 6-spd conversion goes. Can't believe you had to
tear the interior/dash apart like that. Wow...

no it doesnt take it away. It takes fluid from a pressure return line and just squirts it at it. there isnt any way that it starves the 3rd gear.

hahahaha. No offense, but when i saw this thread title, i thought you were joking. Note how a few people are on their 4th and 5th trannies! I'm on my 3rd, but one of them doesnt count because they just recalled the car and did it when i wasnt having any problems. I'm taking it in for 85k service thursday, cant say that i'm not a bit nervous, my car's been performing pretty weak. I hope she's okay...
