no its going to break-
but thats ok becasue you want to get rid of it anyway

The old ones have a toxic substance leak problem,,,
does your auto tint feature still work?
does your mirror have a large oval in the center or bubbles on the edge?
get the mirror out of there now!!!!

Our friendly sponsoring dealers will cut you a deal at $75 for a new one
see thread My Rearview Mirror Exploded for more info

it works fine, just like the swivel mount sags. so the whole mirror housing will angle down over time.

to my knowledge the auto tint works. and there is no bubbles, oval, anything like that

iirc, it was located where the mirror mounts to the car. there's a cover thing that comes off. i can take a look later this afternoon & snap a pic to let you know where/what i'm talking about

OP, i know exactly what you are talking about. mine used to do that (i've already replaced the mirror because of the magna donnelly problem) but yes the mount sucks. what i did was took the mirror off, and reinstalled it and it hasn't given me problems in months. hope that works.

I think he's talking about the ball and socket joint that allow you to adjust the mirror up/down, side/side. I do not believe there is an adjustment to tighten it however you might be able to squirt some clear silicone in there and let it dry and that might keep it from moving. Obviously that won't allow you to adjust it later.

that was my thought too, if its the ball socket loose, silicone and its set!

side question: anyone know the fix to loose ball socket on driver visor?

Have you tried tightening the screws that hold it onto the headliner?
