Thermostat question

ive had a problem with my car overheating for a while now. My car (2003 Acura TL) would over heat after sitting still with the ac on after about 20 min. And the cars rpms would go up without me hitting the acc. Anyways I drained and replaced the anti freeze, tested the radiator and tested the theromstast. Now fast forward till two days ago and I had the AC on while sitting still for about 20 min and then took off. After driving for a while the cars rpms seemed to be increased without me hitting the gas and I pulled over to see the reserve anti freeze tank spitting fluid out. Meanwhile my gauge didn’t show a increase in temp. It stayed a little below the middle line. I bought a new thermostat, does this sound like a stick open/close thermostat? Should I replace? Also replaced the ac fan last year.

Side note: by changing the ac cabin filter would that help blow stronger air? My ac hasn’t been blowing hard lately? Thank you
