Test Ballast, Igniter, bulb
I swapped out a 2002 Acura Tl ballast, igniter and bulbs. How do i go about testing the part to find out which part is bad?
Oo i connect the light bulb to the igniter to the ballast then connect the ballast to a car batter? If so how can i tell which is power and ground on the ballast connector? Thanks! |
flip parts, one at a time, from working side to now working side (passenger to driver or vice versa.)
|
I don't know which one's, side is the good one which is why i am asking. Also i already have the parts out of the car, the car has new parts.
|
 hard to follow what you're trying to say..
You're saying you have perfectly good parts in the car now? Then swap one thing at a time, bulb, then ignitor then ballast to rule them out... |
Sorry, I swapped out both sides with after market ones because i was having issue with one light coming one at a time after i replaced one of the lights.
So now i have the oem parts that i want to sell but i don't want to sell the bad part. So i would like to test them to find the good parts. |
Did you splice into the original wiring to install aftermarket or did you use a pigtail?
|
No it had the D2R connector plug and play.
|
That's just between the bulb and the ignitor. How about from the ballast to the car's existing wiring?
|
The ballast plugged into the car connector, i did not have to modify anything.
|
Do i connect the positive battery cable to the positive tab and the negative cable to the negative tab on the ballast?
|
That was my question
How did you connect the new ballast :tomato: |
I bought a new kit and it was plug and play light, the original plug plugged into the new ballast.
