I live in Calgary (where the weather is unpredictable)
Kindly suggest me which brand tires will you recommend me to buy by keeping in view the weather condition of Calgary. All season or summer (i even don't know the exact terminology) in 16"

So, ya live in the land of unpredictable.....Canada !
Well, for starters....ya have a FWD "TL" which is reasonably good in varying weather conditions,including snow.

Your best bet is an "all-season" tire which is capable of handling the various weather conditions which you are exposed to by your climate's location. Ask your family and friends who are much more experienced with what it takes to survive the ordeals within your region.

If ya wanna really do a performance "summer" tire.......ya probably will need an extra set of rims/tires for the winter time driving challenges which confront ya. Basically, it comes down to your own personal choice and money when it comes down to prioritizing your desires.

Any tire distributor can help ya make the right decision based upon your climate and personal desires. Good luck and may ya drive safely or spirited.....it's your choice !!!

i have extra set of rim for winter tire but my summer tire (all seoson tire) are about to replace and to be on the safe side i want to buy new one

If ya have an extra set of rims....get a pair of real snow tires for traction at the front wheels.
They are worth their weight in gold when winter comes around. All seasons for the others !

one set for summer tires and one set winter tires

Check the tire section for some ideas. Off the top of my head the Hankook V12 have gotten some great reviews. You might get two summers from them. Check for rebates also.

I absolutely love the Continental ExtremeContact DW. Not to be confused with the all season DWS.
I like it because it's been very quiet over the last 35K miles, the sidewalls are fairly soft considering they're a performance summer tire so they don't have a harsh ride, and they look great. I bought these based off of many, many good online reviews, and I have loved them! I also have the DWS version on another car, and my friend with a Corvette has the DWS too, and I wouldn't reccommend them as they become very noisy as they wear. My Corvette buddy has the same complaints.
The top dog summer tire choice seems to be the Michelin Pilot Super Sport.

summer tires have a different rubber compound makeup- it doesn't work well below 32 degrees F

all season are just that, no temp limits and tread design for shedding mud water whatever

Down here in still chilly Nova Scotia...2 degrees C this am...it's time to try a new set of all seasons for me too.


I'm going budget this time, trying a set of Champiro GT's at $90 per tire.

I looked at and considered Pirelli P7, the new Michelin AS etc, but the Champiros were suggested by my mechanic as a good value tire...so why not !!


Those Pirellis are supposed to be very nice tho.
