im having the same issue... although my rpm surges up and down as im driving... on the road.. im suspecting it could be a coil pack:S.. no check engine light....

I changed the 2nd coil because I got that code. Now it still shakes but only alittle tiny bit and we think its another coil that is weak. I ordered another coil but have to wait until I get a CEL and see which one to change, most likely the 1st one.

Sorry for bumping an old thread.

One thing not mentioned in this thread: exhaust leak.

Currently got an exhaust leak with my current car & notice similar behavior. However, my exhaust leak happened suddenly and was able to pinpoint it with the exhaust being louder than usual...and spotted a hole. So just something anyone with problems might wanna check.

Seafoam is an excellent way to find exhaust leaks! it will make smoke come out the offending exhaust connection or hole in a hurry~

Broken front or rear motor mounts will cause running problems- some years have a vacuum booster to the mounts- a leaky hose or bad mount will play tricks on you trying to find an engine miss--
who looks at the motor mounts for that!~

Sorry to bump an old thread but i have very similar problems written here. When i release gas pedal my rpm jumps up and down and falling below 750 when i fully stopped. No cel codes. I have new spark plugs, new IAC valve. Does anyone resolve such problem?

-do egr port cleaning.

I had the same problem few years ago on 99 tl.
now ru ns like new .I plan now to do seafoam(neved did before)

Thanks! I never did a valve cleaning/adjustment but otherwise - everything is clean. EGR, injectors, intake manifold, TB et.c.

I've read through most of the posts... but I feel like the issue I'm having doesn't match up exactly.. I just recently bought a 2000 tl 3.2. The car has 230k on it with documented service. It was a 1 owner car.
Here's my problem.
occasionally I get no response from my throttle, and a rough idle...but if I flutter the pedal a little...she clears up.. I have a check engine light on for a bad o2 sensor. Just cleaned the egr, new plugs,new coils, and new air filter. I also went through and cleaned the throttle body... any ideas? I keep thinking it's a faulty tps... please help..

^^ might be wise to take care of the O2 sensor issue then go from there
