steering wheel shake
ok..............from a cold start, when im first gettting on the highway and i hit around 65 miles an hour, the steering wheel vibrates a little.......
itll go away about 10 minutes later......
what is it??
i had the front rotors resurfaced and pads changed. i need rear brake pads. i have 18" volk racing te37's on yokohama parada spec-2 tires.
the only things i could think of was.........
-get a high speed balance
-replace rear brake pads
-maybe the tires are cold and need to warm up
itll go away about 10 minutes later......

What pressure do you have in the tires right now (don't tell after you fix it, but before )?

whenever i start my car and my tires are cold the pressure is around 33-34. after i drive for about 30 minutes it, its at about 38
what is flat spotting?????
it doesnt shake like crazy, but its there. it goes away so i keep thinking the tires need to warm up so the psi will rise

Flat spotting might not be the correct term. When the car sits in one spot, the tire deforms in the area that's supporting the weight. Depending on the tire's construction, it may retain the deformity until you've spun it out centrifugally- driving down the road.
Some tires seem prone to this. I don't know what it is about their specific construction. Your pressure is certainly high enough, even cold.
I'm guessing that the short sidewall of the 18s (are they 35s or 30s) makes the effect more pronounced than it would be on a stock-sized tire. I'm also guessing that colder temps worsen the effect, since the tire is less pliable, and more apt to retain a deformed shape.
I know what you speak of, though- it's not bad, but you can tell it's there. The old GSCs on my Vette used to be like that, too. The new Michelin Pilot Sports were not. And, as I said previously, the BFG Comp TAs on my old Z28 are bad about this.
I've never really figured out what to do about it, other than to drive the car more, in the case of my Z. Perhaps the tire manufacturer's tech line can give you some guidance.
