Starting Problem

OK car has power, dash light come on, Head lights come on. But this is what happened. Went to start car and it cranked and cranked started for a sec and stopped. I turned key again it did the same thing. Then i tried again and it did nothing. I hear a low click when i turn the key but only one click when i turn the key. Still have power and head lights are bright i don't think it the battery. Any ideas before i have it towed. Its a 2000 TL auto trans

Try hitting the starter hard with something metal, see if that gets it to go.

Tried that did not work. Just get 1 click when turning the key. Sounds like it is coming from the starter. Going to have it towed to the shop.

i think it's the battery still. You cranked and cranked and depleted the battery. Now it doesn't have enough amperage to turn the starter over. .

Also check the starter cable for a loose connection.
